Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Waikato Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 17 October 1940 and published in the Gazette, 17 October 1940, Volume III, page 2687.

Classification of State Highway
PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955, the Commissioner of Transport, as required by the National Roads Board, hereby revokes so much of the Warrant dated 18 December 1961† as relates to the portion of the State highway described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby declares that the said portion of the State highway shall belong to the class as set out in the said Schedule.

Order No. 1 (1962) of the Trade Practices and Prices Commission
In the matter of the Trade Practices Act 1958 and in the matter of an inquiry into an agreement or arrangement concerning the sale of books by the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand.
WHEREAS the Trade Practices and Prices Commission, pursuant to section 18 of the Trade Practices Act 1958, has conducted an inquiry into certain agreements or arrangements among members of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand whereby the said members respectively agree to observe the current price schedules of the said Associated Booksellers of New Zealand and to observe the current discount schedules of the said Associated Booksellers of New Zealand, to charge "Postage extra" on books and magazines supplied through the post, and to observe the stipulated conditions of the said Associated Booksellers of New Zealand relating to "sales".
And whereas it was admitted on behalf of the said members that the said agreements or arrangements constituted trade practices as defined by the Trade Practices Act 1958.
And whereas the Trade Practices and Prices Commission is of the opinion that the said agreements or arrangements are trade practices the continuance or repetition of which would be contrary to the public interest.
Now therefore the Trade Practices and Prices Commission hereby orders and directs:

  1. The members of the said Associated Booksellers of New Zealand—
    (i) To discontinue the said agreements or arrangements and not revive or renew the said agreements or arrangements or to enter into any other agreements or arrangements of substantially the same nature or to repeat in any form all or any of the said agreements or arrangements.
    (ii) To do as members all acts and things necessary to enable the said Associated Booksellers of New Zealand to carry out the requirements of paragraph 2 of this order.
  2. The Associated Booksellers of New Zealand—
    (i) To revoke those of the regulations and bylaws of that body which specify that members agree to observe the Price Schedule and the Discount Schedule and to charge postage extra, and to revoke the conditions in the regulations and bylaws of that body relating to the conduct of sales, and not to revive or renew the said regulations and bylaws and conditions or to make any regulations, bylaws, or conditions of substantially the same nature.
    (ii) To advise its members in writing that they are no longer required to observe the regulations and bylaws of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand relating to:
    (a) The Price Schedule of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand.
    (b) The Discount Schedule of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand.
    (c) The charging of postage extra on books and magazines supplied through the post.
    (d) The stipulated conditions relating to the conduct of sales.
