Alterations to the Scales of Charges Upon the New Zealand Government Railways

PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways hereby makes the following alterations to the General Scale of Charges made on the 21st day of May 1957 and published in the Supplement dated the 28th day of May 1957 to the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd day of May 1957, in force on the New Zealand Government Railways.

GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES

The following alterations to the General Scale of Charges shall come into force on the 1st day of January 1962.

Empty returns n.o.s., forwarded through Parcels

Empty returned milk bottles previously railed full for free distribution to school children and certified accordingly

Empty milk bottles previously railed full for free distribution to school children and certified accordingly

Milk, bottled, in crates, for free distribution to school children and certified accordingly

Parcels rates. (For empty returns previously railed full as parcels traffic and returned through Goods, see regulation 88.)

The empty bottles will be returned free from the original destination station to the original forwarding station. The bottles will not be delivered by the Department.

Half parcels rates. Grouped weights. This traffic will not be delivered by the Department and will not be subject to the terminal charge, vide regulation 55, paragraph 2. See also "Empty returned milk bottles".
