Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 27th day of November 1961.

Declaring Area for Operation of Motor Launches and Water Skiers

Pursuant to the Motor Launch Regulations 1958, the Minister of Marine hereby declares that between the hours of 7.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. on the other days of the week, for a period of two years from the date of this notice, the area of water described in the Schedule hereto shall not be subject to regulations 9 and 10 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1958.

ALL that area of water in the Waiau River between Lake Te Anau and Lake Manapouri.

Declaration That Land is a Public Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Stratford Borough Council on the 19th day of September 1961:

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 13 of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the said borough in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a public reserve as a site for the erection thereon of buildings for the storage, distribution, and transmission of electricity and for workshops and such other buildings, erections, and structures as may be considered necessary for the purpose of lighting the streets and public places of the said Borough of Stratford with electricity and supplying electricity to the inhabitants thereof, to be a public reserve within the meaning of the said Act.”

Change of Purpose of Reserves and Vesting in the Rodney County Council

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserves described in the Schedule hereto from reserves for esplanade purposes to reserves for recreation purposes and, further, vests the said reserves in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Rodney, in trust, for recreation purposes.
