Decisions Under the Customs Acts
THE following decisions in interpretation of the Customs Tariff are published for public information:
PART I—DECISIONS IN INTERPRETATION OF THE TARIFF

APPROVED—
The following drugs and chemicals (uncompounded) provided that they comply with the description and tests specified in the British Pharmacopoeia, the British Pharmaceutical Codex, or that are of a grade suitable for pharmaceutical use where monographs are not therein specified.
NOTES—
(1) This approval does NOT include—
(a) Products comprising two or more constituents which have been mixed or compounded together for therapeutic or prophylactic uses; or
(b) Unmixed products suitable for such uses put up in measured doses or in forms or in packings of a kind sold by retail for therapeutic or prophylactic purposes.
(2) The substances in this list are taken to apply to—
(a) Separate chemically defined inorganic or organic compounds, whether or not containing impurities;
(b) Mixtures of two or more isomers of the same organic compound (whether or not containing impurities), except mixtures of acyclic hydrochloride isomers;
(c) The enzymes included in the list, whether or not chemically defined;
(d) Products mentioned in 2 (a), 2 (b), or 2 (c) above dissolved in water;
(e) Products mentioned in 2 (a), 2 (b), or 2 (c) above dissolved in other solvents provided that the solution constitutes a normal and necessary method of putting up these products adopted solely for reasons of safety or for transport and that the solvent does not render the product particularly suitable for some types of use rather than for general use;
(f) The products mentioned in 2 (a), 2 (b), 2 (c), 2 (d), or 2 (e) above with an added stabiliser necessary for their preservation or transport.
