Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Bay of Islands Development Scheme)

Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 12 June 1930 and published in the Gazette, 26 June 1930, Volume II, page 2054.

The Standards Act 1941—Draft Amendment to the New Zealand Standard Specification for Lasts for Infants', Children's and Youths' and Maids' Footwear (N.Z.S.S. 1529:1960)

Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft amendment is being circulated under the reference No. D. 6802.
All persons who may be affected by this amendment and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the New Zealand Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay, or P.O. Box 195, Wellington C. 1.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 24 November 1961.

Classification of Roads in Uawa County

Pursuant to subclause (8) of regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport, in accordance with a decision of the National Roads Board, hereby declares that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall be classified as set out in the said Schedule.

UAWA COUNTY
Road Classified in Class Two
TAUWHAREPARAE Road (from the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to the No. 1 Suspension Bridge approximately 10 miles 32 chains from the said State highway).

Roads Classified in Class Three
All roads under the control of the Uawa County not otherwise classified herein.

Bylaw Regulating Traffic on State Highways and Fishing from Bridges on State Highways

Pursuant to the National Roads Act 1953 and the Transport Act 1949 and all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling it in that behalf, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw.

BYLAW

  1. This bylaw may be cited as National Roads Board Bylaw 1961, No. 1.
  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Gazette.
  3. The National Roads Board may from time to time by resolution declare any portion of any State highway to be a one-way road, restrict all traffic on such portion to that proceeding along such portion in one direction, and direct that signs shall be erected accordingly.
  4. Where in terms of clause 3 of this bylaw in respect of any portion of any State highway all traffic has been restricted to that proceeding along such portion in one direction, no person shall drive or cause to be driven any vehicle or animal on such portion in a direction contrary to the terms of such restriction.
  5. The National Roads Board may from time to time by resolution prohibit all persons from fishing from any bridge or any part thereof on any State highway and direct that signs shall be erected accordingly.
  6. Where in terms of clause 5 of this bylaw all persons have been prohibited from fishing from any bridge or any part thereof on any State highway, no person shall fish contrary to the terms of such prohibition.
  7. Every person who commits an offence against this bylaw is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds (£20).
    This bylaw was made by resolution duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board held in Wellington on the 18th day of October 1961.
