Limited Speed Zone Declared

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 28th day of January 1957,* which relates to Richmond Borough, is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Richmond Borough:

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from the north-eastern boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 28 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary, and from the south-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 30 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).

Queen Street (from the north-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 45 chains measured south-easterly generally along the said street from the said boundary).

SITUATED within Richmond Borough:

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from the south-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 30 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from the said boundary).

SITUATED within Waimea County (adjacent to Richmond Borough):

No. 6 State Highway (Blenheim-Invercargill via Nelson and Greymouth) (from the south-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 40 chains measured south-westerly generally along the said State highway from Ranzau Road).

Revoking a Closely Populated Locality and Declaring a Limited Speed Zone

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 15th day of April 1946,* which relates to Spring Creek in Marlborough County is hereby revoked.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.†

SITUATED within Marlborough County at Spring Creek:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) (from a point 14 chains measured northerly generally along the said State highway from Spring Creek-Rarangi Road to a point 10 chains measured southerly generally along the said State highway from the said road).

Spring Creek - Rarangi Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 36 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said road from the said State highway).

Spring Creek - Wairau Bridge Road (from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 12 chains measured north-westerly generally along the said road from the said State highway).

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Donnellys Crossing and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 11th day of September 1961.
