shown on Maori Land Plan No. 8665 lodged in the office
of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and a right line, being
the production south-easterly of the said north-eastern side,
across railway land to its eastern boundary; thence southerly
along the said eastern boundary to a point being the
production north-westerly of the north-eastern boundary of
the areas to be taken for road, and shown on Survey Office
Plan No. 29140 lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor
at Auckland, and being parts of Koutu No. 3B and 3A 2A
Blocks; thence south-easterly along a right line to and
along the said north-eastern boundary to the north-western
side of Bennett’s Road; thence north-easterly along the north-
western side of Bennett’s Road aforesaid to the shore of
Rotorua; thence south-easterly generally along the said shore
to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of
Tahererauti No. 2 Block (Ohinemutu Pa); thence along a
right line, being the production nor th-easterly of the aforesaid
boundary, for a distance of 71·44 links bearing 46° 1' 40";
thence south-easterly along a right line for a distance of
2599·54 links bearing 115° 49’ 30", and southerly along
another right line for a distance of 215 links bearing
180° 1' 42" to the original lake shore at the boundary of the
municipal reserve; thence again south-easterly, southerly, and
north-easterly along the shore of the said lake to the western-
most corner of Owhatiura Block in Block I, Tarawera Survey
District; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station Q
on Mokoia Island, being the point of commencement.

NGONGOTAH-AWAHOU TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station
27 (Puwhenua), being the eastern corner of Block VII,
Tapapa East Survey District; thence north-westerly along a
right line in the direction of Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti),
being the western corner of Block IV, Opoutihi Su-vey
District, to its intersection with the production of a right
line between the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block
XI, Waihi South Survey District, and Trig. Station 1039
(Otanewainuku) in Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District;
thence easterly to and along the last-mentioned right line
through the said Trig. Station 1039 (Otanewainuku) to the
middle of the Kaituna River, being a point on the boundary
of the Pikiao West Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore
described; thence southerly along the western boundary of
that area to Trig. Station Q on Mokoia Island in Block XIII,
Rotoiti Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the
Whakaue Tribal Committee Area hereinbefore described;
thence westerly along the northern boundary of that area to
its north-western corner; thence northerly along the right
line between Trig. Station 807 (Uraura) in Block VII, Ngau-
tuku Survey District, and Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua) to the
last-mentioned Trig. Station, being the point of commencement.

Declaring Parts of a Tribal District to be Tribal Committee
Areas Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement
Act 1945

PURSUANT to section 14 of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act 1945, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby
declares the parts of the Arawa No. 3 Tribal District described
in the Schedule below to be tribal committee areas for the
purposes of the Act with the respective names therein set out.

SCHEDULE

NGATI-RANGITIHI TRIBAL COMMITTEE AREA
ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the sea coast due north of Trig. Station J in Block IV,
Waihi South Survey District; thence south-easterly along the
sea coast to a point in line with a right line from Trig.
Station Mount Edgecumbe to the westernmost corner of
Allotment 110, Parish of Matata, in Block VI, Awaateatua
Survey District; thence southerly to and along the aforesaid
right line to a point due east of Trig. Station R 1 (Otuhepo)
in Block IV, Rotoma Survey District; thence due west along
a right line to the aforesaid trig station and the production
thereof to a point on a right line from the south-eastern corner
of Te Riuotepapa Block in Block XV, Rotoma Survey District
to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block XI, Waihi South
Survey District; thence northerly along that right line to the
north-eastern corner of Section 2 aforesaid and a right line
passing through Trig. Station J aforesaid to the sea coast,
being the point of commencement.

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the south-
eastern corner of Te Riuotepapa Block; thence northerly
along a right line in the direction of the north-eastern corner
of Section 2, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District, to a
point due west of Trig. Station R 1 (Otuhepo) in Block
IV, Rotoma Survey District; thence due east along a right
line to a point on a right line from Mount Edgecumbe Trig.
Station to the westernmost corner of Allotment 110, Parish
of Matata; thence southerly along the last-mentioned right
line to Mount Edgecumbe Trig. Station; thence westerly along
a right line to the south-western corner of Allotment 63,
Parish of Matata; thence northerly along a right line to the
south-eastern corner of Te Riuotepapa Block; being the point
of commencement, excepting thereout the Borough of Kawerau
as described in the Gazette of 1957 at page 808.

KAWERAU BOROUGH COMMITTEE AREA
ALL that area being the Borough of Kawerau as described
in the Gazette of 1957 at page 808.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister
of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions
of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as
they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not
apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof
the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers
Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the
Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade
motor in the course of his employment for the employer
described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not
authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive
a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
