Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 155 (1) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

  1. Felt for use in the manufacture of artificial limbs, splints, and similar surgical applications.
  2. Felt piece goods for the manufacture of card tables and other furniture.

The applications will not be dealt with until 9 February 1961 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 9 February 1961.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 269 (1) (a) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

Flexcell joint filler sheets (a bituminised sugar cane fibre sheet).

The application will not be dealt with until 9 February 1961 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 9 February 1961.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 421 (3) (b) (i) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

  1. “Sichel” adhesives for use with aluminium foil.
  2. Darex Pick Up Cement for use in can labelling machines.
  3. Potato starch based pastes for tanners’ use.
  4. Thermoplastic cement for use in sole attaching and similar footwear manufacturing machines.
  5. Sankey’s super acid-resisting cement, in powder or solution form, for setting or jointing acid-resisting bricks, tiles, pipes, etc.

The applications will not be dealt with until 9 February 1961 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 9 February 1961.

Tariff Notice—Decision on Application for Approval

NOTICE is hereby given that the application notified in Tariff Notice No. 27* for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of

Reinforced board for the manufacture of box-tape, under item 269 (1) (a) of the Customs Tariff, has been declined.

PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941, and regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 5 December 1960, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendment shown hereunder:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 1453:1959: Diesel engines for rail traction; being B.S. 2953:1958.

Amendment: No. 1 (PD 3495).

Price of Copy (Post Free): 6s.

Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay, or P.O. Box 195, Wellington C. 1. Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.
