Declaring Stopped Government Road and Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the stopped Government road described in the First Schedule hereto and the land acquired for a Government work and not required for that purpose described in the Second Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 19th day of June 1961.

All those pieces of stopped Government road situated in Block V, Punakitere Survey District, Auckland R.D., described as follows:

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XII, Tapapa Survey District, for Road (Tauranga-Piarere State Highway, Te Poi - Hinuera Section Improvements)

Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Hinuera and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 5

Pursuant to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby authorises the trustees of the under-mentioned savings banks (being savings banks constituted under the Trustee Savings Bank Act 1948) to receive investments by way of deposit in investment accounts, under the National Savings Act 1940, during the investment period expiring 30 June 1962:

Auckland Savings Bank,
New Plymouth Savings Bank,
Dunedin Savings Bank, and
Invercargill Savings Bank.

Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 4

Pursuant to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes that the 22nd investment period shall run from 30 June 1961 to 30 June 1962.

The rate of interest to be paid on investments in an investment account during such investment period shall be 3½ per cent.

Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1964.

Provided that where interest is not withdrawn in terms of section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to the principal moneys of the investor, such amount of interest, together with interest thereon, shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1962.

Notice of Air Weapons Range: RNZAF Station Hobsonville

1. It is hereby notified that bombing, rocket-projectile firing, and air-to-ground gunnery exercises will take place from time to time in the area of land described in the Schedule hereunder and known as the South Kaipara Head Air Weapons Range. The air weapons range is situated on the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand on the Southern Head of Kaipara Harbour.

2. All of the operations will have been given prior authorisation by the Commanding Officer, RNZAF Station, Whenuapai.

SCHEDULE

3. All that area of land and sea situated in the North Auckland Land District and contained in a circle of 6,000 yards radius centred on a point at Latitude 36° 28' 45·3" South, Longitude 174° 09' 38" East positioned on a bearing of 227½° (T) at a distance of 4·8 nautical miles from the South Kaipara Head light.

Declaration That the Papatotara Domain Shall be a Recreation Reserve and Revocation of the Reservation Over the Said Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the Papatotara Domain described in the Schedule hereto, shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part III of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, and shall be deemed to be a recreation reserve, subject to Part II of the said Act, and further, revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the said reserve.
