Revoking a Warrant Under the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921β22 and Proclaiming a Wildlife Refuge in the Auckland Acclimatisation District

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Warrant published in Gazette, 21 February 1929, Vol. I, page 445, notifying an area of land to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the Animals Protection and Game Act 1921β22 and hereby proclaim and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a wildlife refuge for the purposes of the said Wildlife Act 1953.
SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Waikato County, containing 1,020 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 52, Block XV, Maramarua Survey District, and proceeding southerly generally along the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 52 aforesaid and the last-mentioned boundary produced across part Allotment 296, Whangamarino Parish, Rangiriri Stream, and Allotment 462, of the said Parish to the northern side of the public road on the right bank of the Te Onetea Stream; thence generally westerly along that side of the said road, to and along the eastern, northern, and western boundaries of Allotment 478 of the said Parish and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and westerly along the right bank of the said stream to a point due south of the southernmost corner of Allotment 463, Whangamarino Parish; thence along a right line crossing a riverbank reserve and a public road to that southernmost corner; thence along the northern side of a public road, forming the southern boundary of the said Allotment 463, and the northern side of State Highway No. 1 (Great South Road) to and up the middle of the Rangiriri Stream to a point in line with the eastern side of another public road forming the western boundary of Allotment 308, Whangamarino Parish; thence northerly generally along a right line to and along the eastern side of that road to its north-eastern corner; thence along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 50, Block XV, Maramarua Survey District, and along the western and north-western boundaries of that section, the north-western boundary of part Section 86, the western and northern boundaries of Section 56, both sections of Block XV aforesaid, to and along the southern side of a public road crossing the North Island Main Trunk Railway (Te Kauwhata Station), to and southerly generally along the generally eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, D.P. S. 5808, Section 55 and part Section 66, both sections of Block XV aforesaid, to the point of commencement, as the same is more particularly shown on plan marked I.A. 52/110 deposited in the Head Office, Department of Internal Affairs, and thereon edged green.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 14th day of September 1955 and published in the Gazette on the 15th day of the same month at page 1429, authorising Arthur Cowie Nichols, of Maheno, sheep farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and with the consent of the licensee, hereby revokes the Order in Council dated the 5th day of September 1951 and published in the Gazette on the 6th day of the same month at page 1343, authorising Harold Meriton Taylor, of Tariki, dairy farmer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity, the rights, powers, and privileges under the said Order in Council having been assigned to George Lovelock Simpson, of Tariki, farmer.

Authorising the Laying Off of a New Street off Ayr Street in the Borough of Mosgiel at a Width of Less Than 66 ft, but Not Less Than 40 ft, Subject to a Condition as to the Building Line

At the Government House at Wellington this 7th day of June 1961

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
Pursuant to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Mosgiel Borough Council to permit the laying off of the proposed street described in the Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft, but not less than 40 ft, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked M.O.W. 2538 referred to in the said Schedule within a distance of 15 ft from the side lines of the said street.

That proposed street containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10 perches, being part Lots 19 and 20, D.P. 800, being part Section 8, Block III, East Taieri Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 2538 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
