Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations, so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him while he is under the age of 18 years to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Extending a 30 Miles per Hour Speed Limit

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. That so much of the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 28th day of February 1938,* as relates to streets in Waitara Borough is hereby revoked.

2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Waitara Borough:

1. No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth) from the north-eastern boundary of Waitara Borough to a point 36 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-westerly direction from the said boundary.

2. Princess Street from the south-eastern boundary of Waitara Borough to a point 12 chains measured along the said street in a south-easterly direction from its junction with the No. 3 State Highway (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth).
