Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations
1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person
named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing
officer under the said regulations for the authority specified
in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Closely Populated Localities Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the
Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated
localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act
1949.

SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Manukau County in the Otara and Gordon
Blocks:

Bairds Road (from its junction with the Great South Road
to a point 8 chains east of its junction with Wymondley
Road); Billington Avenue; Firth Street; Grange Road; Great
South Road (from the northern boundary of the Papatoetoe
Borough to the southern boundary of the Otahuhu Borough);
Kingsford Place; Lansdown Avenue; Larsen Street; Laureston
Avenue; Laxon Avenue; Lochinver Road; McCullough Avenue;
Wymondley Road.

Revoking Closely Populated Localities and Declaring Limited Speed Zones

PURSUANT to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the
Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That so much of the Warrant under section 36 of the
    Transport Act 1949 dated the 12th day of June 1952* as
    relates to Thorntons Bay and Ngarimu Bay in Thames
    County, and the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport
    Act 1949 dated the 17th day of March 1958† which relates to
    Waiomu in the said county are hereby revoked.

  2. The sections of road specified in the Schedule hereto
    are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the pur-
    poses of the Traffic Regulations 1956‡.

SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Thames County: All those areas consisting
of those portions of the No. 25 State Highway (Pipiroa-
Waihi via Coromandel) hereinafter described:

  1. At Thorntons Bay and Ngarimu Bay, from the junction
    of the said State Highway with Lockhart Place and ter-
    minating at a point 86 chains measured in a northerly
    direction from the commencing point.

  2. At Waiomu, from a point 24 chains south of the junc-
    tion of the said State highway with Waiomu Road and ter-
    minating at a point 32 chains measured in a northerly direc-
    tion from the said junction.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work at Opunake and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in
the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land
Act 1948 as from the 20th day of March 1961.

Licensing Lewis Stevenson James to Use and Occupy a Part
of the Foreshore and Bed of the Sea at Ruamahunga
Bay, Thames Coast, as a Site for a Boat Landing Ramp

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine
hereby licenses and permits Lewis Stevenson James, of
Thames (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall
include his executors, administrators, or assigns unless the
context requires a different construction), to use and occupy
a part of the foreshore and bed of the sea at Ruamahunga
Bay, Thames Coast, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10725
and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at
Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a
boat landing ramp thereon, as shown on the said plan,
such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon
and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the
Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, as
    far as applicable, apply hereto.
  2. The premium payable by the licensee shall be one pound
    (£1) and the annual sum so payable one pound (£1).
  3. The term of this licence shall be 14 years from the 1st
    day of March 1961.
  4. Members of the public are permitted to use the struc-
    ture at all reasonable times.
