Appointment of Officer Authorised to Attest the Signatures of Maoris

Pursuant to sections 222 and 464 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

William Bruce Lockhart Nicol, senior building supervisor, Gisborne,

being an officer in the service of the Crown employed by the Department of Maori Affairs in the position set out opposite his name, as an officer authorised to attest the signatures of Maoris to instruments of alienation of Maori land and to instruments by way of security within the meaning of the Chattels Transfer Act 1924.

Pursuant to section 45 (2) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

to be a member of the Appeal Board set up in connection with an appeal by William Latimer Vickery against the decision of the Auckland Harbour Board in appointing Mr W. J. Wheeler to the position of Acting Foreman of Works, Engineer's Department.
