"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of forty-five thousand pounds (£45,000) authorised to be
raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of providing sewers, storm-
water drainage, water supply, roading, erecting conveniences
and dressing sheds, and developing reserves, the said
Palmerston North City Council hereby makes a special rate
of seventy-six one-thousandths of a penny (·076d.) in the
pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of
Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year
during the currency of the loan, being a period of ten (10)
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Palmerston North City Council held on the 19th day of
December 1960.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Storm Water, Footpaths and Roading Loan 1957, £185,000—
Final Issue of £60,000
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its
amendments, and all other powers in that behalf thereunto
enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby
resolve as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of sixty thousand pounds (£60,000) authorised to be
raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of installing stormwater drains
and forming footpaths and roads, the said Palmerston North
City Council hereby makes a special rate of one-tenth of one
penny (·1d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon
the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property
of the City of Palmerston North; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring special rate during the currency
of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in
each and every year during the currency of the loan, being
a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Palmerston North City Council held on the 19th day of
December 1960.

GREYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Gas Production Loan 1959 – Supplementary Loan 1960, £5,000
It is hereby notified that at a special meeting of the Council
held on Monday, the 19th day of December 1960, the resolu-
tion set out hereunder was passed.
"That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as
security for the said loan and payment of the interest charges
a special rate of 0·059 of a penny in the pound on the
rateable unimproved value of all rateable property within the
Borough."

WESTLAND CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
The Raft Creek Drainage Scheme Loan 1960, £950
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Westland Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of £950 authorised to be raised by the Westland
Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Act for the
Raft Creek Drainage Scheme, the said Westland Catchment
Board hereby makes special rates as follows:
(i) A rate of 7s. per acre on the total acreage of all
property classified as Class A in the Raft Creek
Drainage Scheme Special-rating District, as de-
fined on plan No. 906/71 deposited in the office
of the Westland Catchment Board at Greymouth.
(ii) A rate of 5s. 9d. per acre on the total acreage of all
property classified as Class B in the Raft Creek
Drainage Scheme Special-rating District, as de-
fined in the said plan No. 906/71.
(iii) A rate of 4s. 3d. per acre on the total acreage of all
property classified as Class C in the Raft Creek
Drainage Scheme Special-rating District, as defined
in the said plan No. 906/71.
(iv) A rate of 2s. 9d. per acre on the total acreage of all
property classified as Class D in the Raft Creek
Drainage Scheme Special-rating District, as defined
in the said plan No. 906/71.
(v) A rate of 1s. per acre on the total acreage of all
property classified as Class E in the Raft Creek
Drainage Scheme Special-rating District, as defined
in the said plan No. 906/71.
The special rates shall be annually recurring rates during
the currency of the loan and shall be payable on the 30th day
of September and the 31st day of March in each and every
year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 15
years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution duly passed by the Westland Catchment Board
at its meeting held on the 21st day of December 1960.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Footpath Improvement Loan 1960, £21,000
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Timaru City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charge
on the loan of £21,000, to be known as the Footpath
Improvement Loan 1960, authorised to be raised by the
Timaru City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of reconstructing and sealing footpaths in the City,
the said Timaru City Council hereby makes a special rate
of one hundred and nineteen thousandths of a penny (0·119d.)
in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of
Timaru; and that the said special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of the said loan, being a period
of 14 years, or until such loan is fully paid off."
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Timaru City Council held on the 19th day of December 1960.

WAIMEHO COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan (No. 1) 1960, £3,500
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waihemo
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges
on a loan of £3,500 authorised to be raised by the Waihemo
County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of erecting a staff dwelling, the said Waihemo
County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·052182d.
in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable
property of the County of Waihemo, comprising the whole
of the County of Waihemo; and that the special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and
every year during the currency of the loan, being a period
of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above-mentioned resolution is a
true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Waihemo
County Council at a meeting held on the 16th day of
December 1960.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
Notice is hereby given that the North Auckland Electric
Power Board proposes, under the provisions of the Public
Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule
hereto for the use of electrical works; and notice is hereby
further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken
is deposited in the Branch Office of the North Auckland
Electric Power Board situated in Albert Street, Whangarei, and
is open for public inspection, without fee, by all persons during
ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the proposed
taking of the said land who have any well grounded objections
to the proposed taking of the said land must state their
objections in writing and send the same, within forty (40)
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary
of the Board at the Board's Office, Normanby Street,
Dargaville.
