Notice to Persons Affected by an Application for Licence Under the Licensed Industries Regulations

PURSUANT to regulation 14 of the Licensed Industries Regulations 1957, notice is hereby given that the following application will be considered at a public sitting of the Licensed Industries Committee to be held in the Board Room, Department of Industries and Commerce, First Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington C. 1, on Wednesday, 23 March 1960, commencing at 2.30 p.m. Applicant and persons likely to be materially affected by the decision of the Committee should communicate with the Secretary, Licensed Industries Committee, Department of Industries and Commerce, P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.

Applicant:
New Zealand Forest Products Ltd., O’Rorke Road, Penrose, Auckland, on behalf of a subsidiary company to be formed.

Application:
For a licence to manufacture the following products in Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand, near the City of Christchurch:
(1) Kraft paper and board, including kraft paper and board for the manufacture of multiwall paper bags, corrugated and solid containers, building papers, and any other kraft products.
(2) Paper and board products of all kinds involving mixtures of kraft, semi-chemical and mechanical pulps in any proportions with the specific exclusion of newsprint which, for the purpose of this application is defined as follows:
(a) Having a weight in the range of 30 to 35 lb. 24 in. x 36 in. – 500 and a thickness not exceeding 0·004 in.
(b) Containing not less than 70 per cent of mechanical pulp and not more than 30 per cent chemical pulp.
(3) Kraft pulp.
(4) Semi-chemical pulp.
(5) Mechanical pulp.

Declaring Crown Land to be Subject to the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953

PURSUANT to section 331 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on and from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Ngati-Manawa Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 8 January 1937 and published in the Gazette, 21 January 1937, Volume I, page 243.
