Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land in the Borough
of Devonport for Defence Purposes

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for defence purposes; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Devonport and is there open for inspection, and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 4·6 perches situated in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, Auckland R.D., and being land on D.P. 842, being part Allotment 33 of Section 2, Takapuna Parish; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 159973 (S.O. 41169) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a police station. And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the post office at Ruatoria and are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of such land should if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days of the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

Whenuapai Aerodrome

In the matter of the Public Works Amendment Act 1956 and in the matter of the Whenuapai Aerodrome in the North Auckland Land District.

THE Minister of Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section 8 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1956, hereby gives notice that for the purpose of making the Whenuapai Aerodrome safe for aviation purposes he limits the erection, placing, or extension, without the consent of the Minister in Charge of Civil Aviation, of any building, pole, mast, or other structure of any kind or the growing of trees or shrubs of any kind on the land described in the First Schedule hereto to the respective levels defined in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 47 acres 1 rood situated in Block VI, Waitemata Survey District, Auckland R.D., and being part Allotment 3, Waipareira Parish. All certificate of title, Volume 767, folio 239, Auckland Land Registry (limited as to parcels).

SECOND SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
No building, pole, mast, or other structure and no trees or shrubs shall be permitted to reach such a height that it will penetrate above either the approach surface or the transitional surfaces as shown on the plan marked M.O.W. 1395 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington.
The datum for all levels on the said plan is mean sea level.
The approach surface commences at a distance of 200 ft west of the threshold at the 08 end of the 08–26 running at a reduced level of 67·62 ft above mean sea level. Thence it rises in a westerly direction at a gradient of 1 in 40 as shown on the plan by aerial contours at 5 ft vertical intervals. The centre of the base of the said approach surface is marked on the ground by a reference bolt, No. 084, set in an 18-in.-square concrete block. The reduced level of the said bolt is 64·25 ft.
Coordinates of the said bolt, in terms of Mount Eden Trig. Station as origin, are:
52014·84 links north.
62882·58 links west.

The number of the said bolt 084 and the reduced level of the said bolt, 64·25 ft, are stamped on a brass plate set in the said concrete block.
The base of the said approach is 500 ft wide, extending 250 ft on either side of the runway centre line produced at the said bolt.

The sides of the said approach surface diverge on each side by 10 per cent of the distance out from the said base.

The two transitional surfaces lie one on each side of the said approach surface and rise outwards at a gradient of 1 in 7 as shown by serial contours on the said plan.

Ground contours are shown by the short-dash lines and are at 5 ft vertical intervals.
