PURSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Dunedin City Corporation to permit the laying off of the proposed streets described in the Schedule hereto at a width of less than 66 ft but not less than 42 ft, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land shown edged green on the plan marked P.W.D. 160198 referred to in the said Schedule, within a distance of 15 ft from the side lines of the said streets.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

THOSE proposed streets in the City of Dunedin, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less, being parts Sections 17, 22, and 23, and part closed road, Wakari Survey District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 160198 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

The Akatore Rural Fire District Order 1960

COBHAM, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 26th day of January 1960

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Akatore Rural Fire District Order 1960.

  2. This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  3. The area specified in the Schedule to this order is hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Akatore Rural Fire District.

  4. The trees and other plants on State forest land situated in the said area are hereby specified as the property for the protection of which the district is constituted.

  5. The Akatore Rural Fire District shall, for the purposes of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, be administered by the Minister of Forests.

  6. The period between the 1st day of September in any year and the 30th day of April in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby specified and declared to be a closed fire season in the said district.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY Akatore Rural Fire District

All that area in Bruce County, containing approximately 9,000 acres, situated in Blocks V and VI, Clarendon Survey District, and Blocks III, IV, VIII, and IX, Akatore Survey District, and bounded generally as follows:

Generally towards the north-east by the Akatore Creek to the northern boundary of Section 29, Block III, Akatore

Survey District; generally towards the south-east by Section 29, Lot 2 of Section 32, Section 34, the crossing of a public road, Sections 42, 41, and 40, the crossing of a public road, Sections 50, 51, 1590R, again by Section 51, the crossing of Quin Point Road, and again by Section 51 all of Block III aforesaid; generally towards the south by Sections 9, 11, and 12, Block IV, Akatore Survey District, the crossing of Watson Road and by the south-western side of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 27, Block IV aforesaid, thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 26, Block IV aforesaid, and by Sections 26 and 30, Block IV aforesaid, the crossing of a public road and by Section 24, Block IX, Akatore Survey District; towards the west by Section 18, Block IX, Akatore Survey District, the southern side of a public road, the crossing of a public road, by Sections 49, 37, 65, 53, 50, 57, 55, 36, the crossing of a public road, and by Sections 13, 12, and 11, all of Block VIII, Akatore Survey District; generally towards the north-west by Sections 7, 6, the crossing of a public road and by Sections 11 and 12, all of Block VIII aforesaid. As shown on plan No. 215/25 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

The New Zealand Industries Fair Order 1960

THE RIGHT HON. W. NASH, C.H., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the New Zealand Industries Fair Order 1960.

  2. In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,— “The Act” means the Exhibition Act 1910: “The promoter” means the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association (Incorporated): “The exhibition” means a public exhibition of works of industry and art, to be conducted by the promoter at the Christchurch Transport Board's premises, Ferry Road, Christchurch, from the 25th day of February 1960 to the 12th day of March 1960 (both inclusive), and to be known as the New Zealand Industries Fair 1960.

  3. The exhibition is hereby authorised, and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.

  4. Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto, the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done or business conducted or services rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely—such of the provisions of—

(a) The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954 and all awards and industrial agreements in force thereunder;

(b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955; and (c) The Factories Act 1946,— as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime, or extended hours, or to holidays, and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.

SCHEDULE

  1. Eight hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition, and, with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the hours shall be worked consecutively.

  2. No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than four hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

  3. Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than eight hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m. (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first two hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter, and any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act or of any award or industrial agreement shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than
