Authorising the Stewart Island County Council to Erect and
Use Certain Electric Lines

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 19th day of
October 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Stewart
Island County Council (hereinafter referred to as the licen-
see), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay,
construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described
in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by
    the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical
    Wiring Regulations 1935, shall be incorporated in and shall
    form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may
    be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.

LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS

  1. The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance
    by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935,
    the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference
    Regulations 1958, and with all regulations hereafter made in
    amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.

SYSTEM OF SUPPLY

  1. The system of supply shall be as described in paragraph
    (d) of regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations
    1935, and shall be an alternating-current system.

DURATION OF LICENCE

  1. Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall con-
    tinue in force until the 31st day of March 1981.

SCHEDULE

LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the system of
supply hereinbefore described commencing from the licensee’s
generator situated in Section 8, part Block I, and proceeding in
a north-easterly direction to a school situated in Sections 3
and 4, part Block I; all being situated in the Oban Town,
Paterson Survey District in the County of Stewart Island; the
said lines being more particularly shown by means of broken
lines on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 551 deposited in the office
of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

The Bay of Islands College Board of Governors Order 1960

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 12th day of
October 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 90 of the Education Act 1914, as
amended by section 10 of the Education Amendment Act
1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Bay of Islands
    College Board of Governors Order 1960.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of
    February 1961.
  2. The constitution of the Board of Governors of the Bay
    of Islands College, prescribed by section 90 of the Education
    Act 1914, is hereby varied so that the school shall be con-
    trolled by a Board of Governors constituted as follows:
    (a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education
    Board;
    (b) Six members elected by the parents of the pupils attend-
    ing the school;
    (c) One member appointed by the Governor-General;
    (d) One member appointed jointly by the Bay of Islands
    County Council and the Kawakawa Town Council;
    (e) One member co-opted by the Board of Governors itself,
    if and when it thinks fit.

At the Government House at Wellington this 19th day of
October 1960

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 5 of the Historic Places Act 1954, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation
of the Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoints the under-
mentioned person to be a member of the National Historic
Places Trust for a term of three years on and from the first
day of April 1960.
To represent the historical, founders', pioneers' and early
settlers’ associations and societies in New Zealand:
William James Gardner, M.A., of Christchurch, in place
of Kenneth Hector Melvin, M.A., DIP.ED., DIP.SOC.SCI., of
Dunedin, retired.

Resumption of Maori Land by the Crown

At the Government House at Wellington this 12th day of
October 1960
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 110 (6) of the Maori Purposes Act 1931,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby resumes
the land described in the Schedule hereto, which land accord-
ingly becomes Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 2 roods, more or less,
being part of Section 16, Block XIII, Tautuku Survey Dis-
trict, and being part of the land contained in certificate of
title, Volume 168, folio 255, as the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked M.A. 5/17/3 (S.O. 304M)
deposited in the office of the Department of Maori Affairs at
Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
