Resolutions Amending Rules of the Royal Society of New Zealand

PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1933, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Royal Society of New Zealand has, at its annual meeting held on 18 May 1960, passed the following resolutions amending its rules which were published in the Gazette on 14 November 1935, Volume III, page 3315.

(a) Resolutions with reference to section G. 1. relating to Fellows that rules G. 1. (1), G. 1. (2), and G. 1. (4) be amended as follows:

G. 1. (1)—Delete the word “knowledge” and substitute therefor the word “science”. G. 1 (2)—Delete the word “fifty” and substitute therefor the words “one hundred”. G. 1 (4)—Add after the words “in any one year” the words “provided that the Council may elect in the year 1961 twenty Fellows and in each of the years 1962, 1963, and 1964, ten Fellows in addition to any vacancies in the Fellowship caused by death”.
