Notice of Appointment of Judge to Lake Taupo Control Compensation Court
WHEREAS by section 34 of the Finance Act (No. 3) 1944 it is enacted that claims for compensation made under the Public Works Act 1928 by persons having estates or interests in lands in the neighbourhood of Lake Taupo or the Waikato River by reason of the lands having been taken for the purpose of, or injuriously affected by, or having suffered damage from certain public works undertaken by the Minister of Works for the purpose of controlling the level of the waters in Lake Taupo and regulating the flow of the Waikato River, shall be determined by a special Compensation Court:
And whereas by the said section it is further enacted that the Court shall consist of four members as follows:
(a) The Judge of the Land Valuation Court, who shall be the President of the Court;
(b) The other members of that Court; and
(c) The Chief Judge of the Maori Land Court or such other present or past Judge of that Court as the Chief Judge from time to time appoints.
Now, therefore, it is hereby notified that Ernest Mansfield Beechey, of Tauranga, a past Judge of the Maori Land Court, has been so appointed by the Chief Judge; and it is hereby further notified that the said Compensation Court shall be known as the Lake Taupo Control Compensation Court.

Officers Authorised to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations
PURSUANT to section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to authorise the holders for the time being of the offices in the service of the Crown specified in the Schedule below to take and receive statutory declarations under the said Act.

Revocation of Appointment of Officer Authorised to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to revoke the appointment of Ivan Laurence Houghton, an officer in the service of the Crown as an officer authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957.

Revocation of Appointment of Officer Authorised to Take and Receive Statutory Declarations
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to revoke the appointment of the holder for the time being of the office of Assistant Manager, Hamilton, State Advances Corporation, in the service of the Crown, as an officer authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under section 9 of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957.

PURSUANT to the Cook Islands Act 1915, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby revokes the appointment of Geoffrey William Arthur Perks, Esquire, as a Commissioner of the High Court of the Cook Islands with effect from the 12th day of September 1960.

Lake Taupo Control Compensation Court—Appointment of Time and Place for the First Sitting of the Court
PURSUANT to section 34 of the Finance Act (No. 3) 1944, I hereby appoint Tuesday, the 1st day of November 1960, at the hour of 11 a.m. as the time, and the Taupo Memorial Hall, Taupo, as the place for the first sitting of the Court.

Remembrance Day 1960
CITIZENS and traffic control authorities throughout New Zealand are requested to observe Remembrance Day on Sunday, 13 November 1960.
The observance of this day should be similar to that of Remembrance Day last year. Two minutes’ silence to be observed from 11 a.m. and all vehicular traffic to halt during that period.
The New Zealand Government trusts that churches will agree to arrange as far as practicable, for a morning service on this day to commence at such time as to enable two minutes’ silence to be observed at 11 o’clock.
Where a citizen’s memorial service is held, it is suggested that it should be at the local cenotaph or war memorial, as the case may be.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve
PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto.
