THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 43773, being part
Allotment 86, Manurewa Parish; situated in Block VIII,
Titirangi Survey District; thence by a right line to the middle
of the end of Waikowhai Road, the point of commencement,
including the island of Wiroa.
HAURAKI TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area, situated in the South Auckland Land District,
bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Waikawau
River in Block IV, Hastings Survey District; thence proceeding
up the middle of the Waikawa River to its source; thence
south-easterly along a right line in the direction of the north-
ern head of the Tairua Harbour in Block X, Whitianga
Survey District, to its intersection with the production of a
right line between Trig. Station 1099 (Maumaupaki) in Block
XII, Hastings Survey District, and Trig. Station 23E (Papakai)
in Block VIII, Hastings Survey District; thence southerly to
and along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station 1099
aforesaid, and a right line to Trig. Station 1091 in Block XV,
Hastings Survey District; thence easterly along a right line
to Trig. Station 97 (Table Mountain); thence southerly along
a right line to Trig. Station 89B in Block I, Ohinemuri Survey
District, a right line to the north-eastern corner of Hikutaia
No. 1B 1A Block and along the eastern boundary of that
block and its production to the middle of the Hikutaia River,
along a right line to Trig. Station 1862, a right line to the
confluence of the Ohinemuri River and the Waitawheta
Stream, and a right line to Trig. Station 63 (Karangahake),
and along a right line to Trig. Station 567 (Te Aroha); thence
south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost point of
the Te Aroha Borough as described in Gazette, 1917, page
1868; thence along the south-eastern, southern, and western
boundaries of that borough to the intersection of the last-
mentioned boundary with the middle of the Waihou River;
thence down the middle of the Waihou River to its intersec-
tion with the southern boundary of the Waihou Survey Dis-
trict; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the
Waihou Survey District to the middle of the Piako River,
being a point on the boundary of the Hauraki Plains County
as described in Gazette, 1936, page 842; thence westerly and
north-westerly along that county boundary to the southern
boundary of Section 1, Block II, Piako Survey District, and
along a right line to Trig. Station 135 (Rataroa); thence
north-easterly along a right line to the mouth of the Miranda
Stream; thence easterly generally along the sea coast to the
southernmost corner of Section 1, Block X, Thames Survey
District; thence along the western and north-western boun-
daries of that section to its northernmost point; thence along
a right line to the northernmost point of Section 1, Block VII,
Thames Survey District; thence along a right line to the inter-
section of the production of the north-western boundary of
Section 3, Block VII, Thames Survey District, with the middle
of the Waihou River; thence north-easterly to and along the
last-mentioned boundary to its intersection with the southern
boundary of the Borough of Thames, as described in the
Thames Borough Alteration Act 1918; thence north-westerly
generally along the southern, south-western, and northern
boundaries of the said borough to the intersection of the last-
mentioned boundary with the sea coast; thence northerly
along the sea coast to the mouth of the Waikawau River,
being the point of commencement.
FRANKLIN TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area in the County of Franklin and the Boroughs
of Pukekohe and Waiuku, bounded by a line commencing at
a point on the south head of the Manukau Harbour, being
the intersection of the eastern boundary of Titirangi Survey
District with the mean high-water spring tide of the aforesaid
harbour, and proceeding easterly along that said line of mean
high water of the Manukau Harbour and Pahurehure Inlet,
to and up the middle of the Hingaia Creek, to and southerly
along the boundary of the Manukau Tribal District herein-
before described to the north-eastern corner of Lot 2, D.P.
8057, situated in Block XII, Drury Survey District; thence
along the boundary of the Pou-O-Mangatawhiri Tribal Dis-
trict hereinbefore described to the easternmost corner of Allot-
ment 53, Mangatawhiri Parish in Block IX, Opaheke Survey
District; thence south-westerly along a right line to the
northern corner of Allotment 12, Pukekohe Parish; thence
southerly along another right line to the northern corner of
Allotment 106, Tuakau Parish, situated in Block III, Onewhero
Survey District; thence southerly along the western boundary
of the said Allotment 106, to and westerly along the right
bank (north side) of the Waikato River, to and northerly
along the sea coast to the south head of the Manukau Har-
bour, the point of commencement.
POU-O-MANGATAWHIRI TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area, being part of the Franklin, Waikato, Manu-
kau, and Raglan Counties, bounded by a line commencing at
a point at the north-eastern corner of Lot 2, D.P. 8057, being
part of Allotment 49, Opaheke Parish, situated in Block XII,
Drury Survey District, and proceeding along a right line to
the intersection of the northern boundary of Franklin County
as described in Gazette, 1956, page 705, with the western
boundary of Block I, Wharekawa Survey District; thence
northerly along the aforesaid western boundary and
the western boundary of Orere Survey District to
its intersection with the north-western boundary of
Tapapakanga Block in Block II, Orere Survey District;
thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of
that block to the Firth of Thames; thence southerly generally
along the sea coast to the mouth of the Miranda Stream;
thence along a right line to Trig. Station 135 (Rataroa);
thence westerly along another right line through Trig. Station
1417 to the intersection of a right line between Trig. Stations
72 and 98; thence north-easterly along the aforesaid line to
Trig. Station 98 in Block VII, Wharekawa Survey District;
thence northerly along another right line to the easternmost
corner of Allotment 53, Mangatawhiri Parish in Block IX,
Opaheke Survey District; thence northerly along a right line
to the point of commencement.
RANGIRIRI TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area in the North Auckland and South Auckland
Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. Station
72 in Block IV, Awaroa Survey District, and proceeding
north-easterly along a right line in the direction of Trig.
Station 98 to the south-western corner of Pou-O-Mangatawhiri
Tribal District hereinbefore described; thence north-easterly
along the southern boundary of the aforesaid tribal dis-
trict to Trig. Station 135 (Rataroa) in Block VII, Wharekawa
Survey District; thence southerly generally along a right line
to the north-western corner of Section 38, Block VII, Piako
Survey District, along the south-western boundaries of the
said Section 38, parts Sections 4 and 5 of the said Block VII,
part Section 12, Block XI, and Lot 2 of the said Section 12,
along the abutment of a public road, another part of the
south-western boundary of the said Section 12, the abutment
of another public road and a further part of the south-western
boundary of Section 12, and the south-western boundary of
Section 5, Block XI, Piako Survey District, and along the
western boundary of Section 1, Block XV, Piako Survey
District, to Trig. Station 2042 (Ratawera), in the aforesaid
Block XV; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig.
Station No. 2043 (Ratamaroke), along another right line to
Trig. Station No. 1230 (Pukewhau) in Block V, Hapuakohe
Survey District, and along a right line to the confluence of the
Mangawhara and the Komakorau Streams in Block VI, New-
castle Survey District; thence northerly generally down the
middle of the Mangawhara Stream aforesaid, to and up the
middle of the Waikato River to a point in line with a line
between the western corner of Section 2, Block XI, Rangiriri
Survey District, and the westernmost corner of Section 1,
Block IX of the aforesaid Survey District; thence along that
right line to the westernmost corner of Section 1 aforesaid,
and northerly along another right line to Trig. Station 72, the
point of commencement.

Economic Advancement Act 1945, and Consequential Revo-
cation

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 6 of the Maori Social and Economic
Advancement Act 1945, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham,
the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and
declare the parts of New Zealand described in the Schedule
hereto to be a tribal district for the purposes of the said Act
with the name therein set out, and do hereby revoke the
earlier Proclamation dated 19 April 1947 and published in
the Gazette of 24 April 1947 at page 482.
SCHEDULE
OTAMATEA TRIBAL DISTRICT
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Wairoa
River in line with the north-western boundary of the Parish
of Tokatoka; thence proceeding north-easterly along a right
line to the westernmost corner of that parish, being a point in
the boundary of the Otamatea County as described in the
Gazette of 1929 at page 1684; thence easterly generally along
the generally northern boundary of the said county to the sea
coast; thence southerly generally along the sea coast crossing
the mouths of all harbours and inlets to the middle of the
mouth of the Waiwera River in Block IV, Waiwera Survey
District; thence up the middle of that river to a point in line
with the north-eastern boundary of Section 52, Parish of
Puhoi; thence to and along the southern and western bound-
aries of Puhoi Parish to the northern boundary of Makarau
Parish; thence north-westerly along a right line passing through
