THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 3) 1960

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 3) 1960.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 23rd day of September 1960.

  2. Goods of the class specified in the Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

SCHEDULE

81 (1) Tobacco, unmanufactured, for manufacture into tobacco, etc.
81 (2) Tobacco, unmanufactured, for manufacture into cigars.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 4) 1960

Pursuant to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 4) 1960.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 23rd day of September 1960.

  2. Goods of the class specified in the Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Tariff Notice—Application for Determination of the Minister of Customs

Notice is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by determination of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 180 (6) (a) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

Knitted or lockstitched piece goods composed wholly or principally of silk or man-made fibres, plain or merely hemmed, whipped, or similarly worked, not being printed or embroidered.

The application will not be dealt with until 20 October 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 20 October 1960.

It is hereby notified for public information that, as the previous application, which gave rise to Tariff Notice No. 3 dated 11 August 1960, has been withdrawn in favour of the above notice, no decision will be made in respect of Tariff Notice No. 3.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

Notice is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 359 (2) (a) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

Iron nails, brassed.

The application will not be dealt with until 20 October 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 20 October 1960.

Pneumatic tyres for aircraft.

The application will not be dealt with until 20 October 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 20 October 1960.

Tariff Notice—Application for Approval of the Minister of Customs

Notice is hereby given that applications have been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 421 (3) (b) (i) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

  1. Envelope gum.
  2. Unibond synthetic glue (an additive for concrete).
  3. Adhesives suitable for gumming down fabrics on screen printing tables.
  4. Synthetic resin emulsion adhesives for the manufacture of paper cups and drinking straws.

The applications will not be dealt with until 20 October 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 20 October 1960.

Cells of dimensions previously contained in British Standard Specification 397/1946, Table 3, designated U7 or its equivalent as now amended by British Standard Specification 397/1960, Table 1, where the cell is now designated R6.

The application will not be dealt with until 20 October 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 20 October 1960.

Tariff Notice—Amendment to Tariff Notice No. 23 Dated 15 September 1960

It is hereby notified for public information that Tariff Notice No. 23 relating to an application for the determination of the Minister of Customs of certain goods under item 119 (2) (a) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand is amended by the addition, prior to the list of goods named, of the following:

Formulations in which the chemical substances mentioned are the principal active ingredients.

It is also hereby notified that the closing date for objections has now been extended to 20 October 1960.
