Proclaiming Tribal Districts Under the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945 and Consequential Revocations

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to section 6 of the Maori Social and Economic Advancement Act 1945, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare the parts of New Zealand described in the First Schedule hereto to be tribal districts for the purposes of the said Act with the respective names therein set out, and do hereby revoke the earlier Proclamations enumerated in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
RANGINUI TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area in the Tauranga County bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Maurihoro A (Crown land) on the western boundary of Block XI, Aongatete Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Waipapa River on the production north-westerly of the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 72, Te Puna Parish, in Block VI, Aongatete Survey District; thence north-easterly down the middle of Waipapa River to the middle of Tauranga Harbour; thence south-easterly generally along the middle of the Tauranga Harbour, excluding Motuhoa Island, to and along the middle of the south-east arm of the said harbour, to and along the middle of the bay north of the Matapihi Peninsula to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Hungahunga-Toroa 1B, in Block XI, Tauranga Survey District; thence south-westerly to and along the last-mentioned boundary, along a right line to the northernmost corner of Puwhariki Block, along the north-western boundary of that block to and along the north-western boundary of Te Ngaio No. 2 and its production across the said south-east arm of the Tauranga Harbour to the shore of Maungatapu Peninsula; thence south-westerly along the north-western shore of that peninsula to the south-western boundary of Maungatapu Block in Block XIV, Tauranga Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Maungatapu Block and its production to the middle of Ohauiti Stream; thence up the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Kaitimako D; thence southerly along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District, and a right line to Trig. Station 1039 (Otanewainuku); thence westerly along the production of a right line from the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District, to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 27 (Puwhenua), being the eastern corner of Block VII, Tapapa East Survey District, and Trig. Station 146 (Te Weraiti), being the western corner of Block IV, Opoutahi Survey District; thence north-westerly along the last-mentioned right line to Trig. Station 146 aforesaid; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 909 (Waianuanu); thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of part Okauia No. 1 to the south-eastern boundary of Maurihoro A and north-easterly along the last-mentioned boundary to the point of commencement, and including Motiti Island.
NGAITERANGI TRIBAL DISTRICT
All that area in the Tauranga County bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block XVI, Otanewainuku Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Ranginui Tribal District hereinbefore described; thence proceeding northerly generally along the eastern boundary of that district to the middle of the Tauranga Harbour and along the middle of that harbour to its entrance; thence due north-east to the sea coast; thence north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the sea coast to the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block IV, Te Tumu Survey District; thence south-westerly along a right line to Trig. Station K, in Block IV aforesaid, a right line to Trig. Station Otara in Block V, Maketu Survey District, a right line to the southernmost corner of Waitaha 1B 3 in Block V aforesaid, and a right line to the point of commencement, and including Moturiki and Motuoatau Islands.

Declaring Lands in South Auckland and Canterbury Land Districts Vested in the South Auckland and Canterbury Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the South Auckland Education Board, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Canterbury Education Board, as sites for public schools shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
SECTION 15, Waitanguru Village, situated in Block VII, Maungamangero Survey District: Area, 3 acres 1 rood 19 perches, more or less. (S.O. Plan 16459.)
