Price Order No. 1816 (Amendment No. 6 of Price Order No. 1800) (Meat Retail)

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following amending price order.

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 1816 and shall be read together with and deemed part of Price Order No. 1800* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).
  2. This order shall come into force on the 5th day of September 1960.
  3. The principal order is hereby amended as follows:
    (a) By revoking clause 3 and substituting the following clause:
    “3 (1) Nothing in this order shall apply with respect to sales of lamb during the period covered by the dates set out in the Fourth Schedule hereto.
    (2) Except as provided in subclause (1) hereof this order applies only with respect to all retail sales of meat (whether fresh, frozen, or prepackaged chilled meat) in the meat pricing districts defined in the First Schedule hereto and of the kinds or descriptions specified in the Second Schedule hereto intended for human consumption and whether sold in an abattoir district or in a non-abattoir district.
    (3) All meat sold or delivered to a purchaser during the currency of this order shall be deemed to be intended for human consumption unless it is sold for some other specific purpose.
    (4) The maximum prices fixed by this order apply with respect to sales by auction as well as to other sales.
    (5) The provisions of this order shall apply notwithstanding that any meat to which this order applies is sold otherwise than by weight.”
    (b) By adding the following new Schedule thereto to be known as the Fourth Schedule.

“FOURTH SCHEDULE
PERIOD DURING WHICH THIS ORDER DOES NOT APPLY TO THE SALE OF LAMB
FROM and including the 5th day of September 1960 up to and including the 4th day of December 1960.”
(c) By inserting in the First Schedule thereto at the end of the definition of the Auckland Meat Pricing District the words “and the Waiheke Road District” after the words “boundaries of any such county”.
(d) By revoking the Third Schedule thereto, and substituting the following Schedule.

“THIRD SCHEDULE
MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES OF MEAT TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES
THE maximum retail prices of meat of the kinds, grades, and descriptions specified in the Second Schedule, shall for each meat pricing district, be the basic retail prices for those kinds, grades, and descriptions plus or minus per pound the amounts specified hereunder:
