Notice of Intention to Destroy Public Records

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Archives Act 1957, notice is hereby given of intention to destroy the following public records:

DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS

General Files: Obsolete files containing miscellaneous and general correspondence dealing with minor administrative items within the Department including distribution, exchange, and receipt of publications, requests for information, and other routine matters: and other matters of a relatively unimportant and ephemeral nature.

NOTE—Individual statistical material has already been disposed of by burning in fulfilment of the express undertaking that all such information is confidential between the Department and the supplier.

These files may be inspected on application to the National Archives, The Terrace, Wellington.

Any person may, within one month after the date of publication of this notice, lodge with the Secretary for Internal Affairs, Wellington, an objection to the destruction of the records specified above, stating therein the grounds of his objection. Such objections will be dealt with in accordance with section 18 of the Archives Act 1957.

Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954—Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union

PURSUANT to section 86 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1954, it is hereby notified that the registration of the Patea Cooperative Society of Waterside Employees Industrial Union of Workers, registered No. 2060, situated at Patea, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Tariff Notice—Application for Determination of the Minister of Customs

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by determination of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 104 (2) (b) (i) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

(1) Esters, Salts and Emulsifiable acid formulations of:
(a) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(b) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy butyric acid.
(c) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy propionic acid.
(d) 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(e) 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy propionic acid (Silvex).
(f) 4 chlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(g) 2 Methyl 4 chlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(h) 2 Methyl 4 chlorophenoxy butyric acid.
(i) 2 Methyl 4 chlorophenoxy propionic acid.

(2) Emulsifiable concentrates Iso propyl N(3-chlorophenyl) carbamate (Chloropropham, Chloro I.P.C.).

(3) Emulsifiable concentrates Iso propyl phenyl carbamate (propham I.P.C.).

(4) Emulsifiable concentrates 2,3,6-trichlorobenzoic acid.

(5) Emulsifiable concentrates polychlorobenzoic acid.

(6) Esters of 2,2-dichloropropionic acid—Erbon.

(7) 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetamide formulations.

(8) Sodium arsenite solutions.

(9) Pentachlorophenol formulations.

(10) Pentachlorophenate formulations.

(11) Amitrol formulations.

(15) Fenuron formulations (except 25 per cent pellets).

(16) Growth regulating and promoting substances and preparations n.e.i.: All preparations based on—
(a) Naphthalene acetic acid.
(b) Naphthalene butyric acid.
(c) Gamma indole-3-butyric acid.
(d) Parachlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(e) 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxy acetic acid.
(f) N-metatolyl phthalamic acid.
(g) Maleic hydrazide.
(h) Meta-naphthoxyacetic acid.
(i) n-l-naphthyl phthalamic acid.
(j) n-l-naphthyl phthalamide acid.

The application will not be dealt with until 8 September 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 8 September 1960.

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for the classification, by approval of the Minister of Customs, of the under-mentioned goods under item 338 (18) (a) (i) of the Customs Tariff of New Zealand:

Loudspeakers, viz: 15 in. low frequency speaker and high frequency driver unit and horn.

The application will not be dealt with until 8 September 1960 and any person wishing to submit any objection thereto should do so in writing to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, on or before 8 September 1960.
