Boundaries of City of New Plymouth, County of Taranaki, and Omata and Mangorei Ridings of County of Taranaki Defined

Pursuant to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the City of New Plymouth, the County of Taranaki, and the Omata and Mangorei Ridings of the County of Taranaki, the previous boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on the 10th day of February 1960, and published in the Gazette, 11 February 1960, No. 8, page 156.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF CITY OF NEW PLYMOUTH
All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the Tasman Sea and the left bank of the mouth of the Waiwakaiho River and proceeding along the left bank of the Waiwakaiho River to the south-eastern corner of original Section 88, Fitzroy District; thence north-easterly along the production of the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 88 to the middle of the Waiwakaiho River; thence generally southerly up the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 184, Grey District; thence south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 184 to the north-eastern boundary of Section 917, Grey District; thence south-easterly and south-westerly along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that section to Mangorei Road; thence again south-westerly along a right line across Mangorei Road to and along the middle of Smiths Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 11, D.P. 8242; thence north-westerly along a right line to and along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 11 and the south-western boundaries of Lots 10 and 9, D.P. 8242, to the south-eastern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 8242; thence south-westerly and westerly along the south-eastern and southern boundaries of the said Lot 6 to the south-eastern boundary of part Lot 5, D.P. 4028; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that lot to the eastern side of Truby King Street; thence north-westerly along a right line to a point on the south-eastern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 4028, 5½ chains distant from the western side of Mangorei Road; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the said part Lot 2 and its production across the Henui River to its left bank; thence along the left bank of the Henui River to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Section 83, Grey District, as shown on D.P. 2057; thence south-easterly along a right line to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 83, Grey District aforesaid, and its production across Smiths Road; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of Smiths Road to the north-eastern corner of part Lot 1, D.P. 3838; thence generally southerly along the eastern boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 3838, to and generally along the western side of an unnamed public road to its intersection with Junction Road; thence generally westerly along the northern side of Junction Road to and north-westerly along the north-eastern side of an unnamed public road to the right bank of the Henui River; thence along the right bank of the Henui River to the south-eastern side of Smiths Road and south-westerly along the south-eastern side of Smiths Road; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of the said road to its junction with an unnamed public road; thence south-westerly along a right line across the unnamed public road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 13, D.P. 6134; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 13, D.P. 6134, and the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 3, 4, and 5, D.P. 4684, and that boundary produced, to Coronation Avenue; thence southerly along the eastern side of Coronation Avenue to its junction with Junction Road; thence southerly along a right line across the junction of the aforementioned roads to the intersection of the southern sides of Tarahua and Junction Roads; thence easterly along the southern side of Junction Road to a point 2½ chains from and parallel to the south-eastern side of Tarahua Road; thence south-westerly along lines 2½ chains from and parallel to the south-eastern side of Tarahua Road to the south-eastern corner
