Notice of Intention to Take Land in the Borough of Mount Wellington for Better Utilisation

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for better utilisation. And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL those pieces of land situated in Block II, Otahuhu Survey District, Borough of Mount Wellington, Auckland R.D., fronting Great South Road, Sylvia Park Road, Mount Wellington Highway, and Aranui Road lying to the north of Sylvia Park Railway Station; described as follows:

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Kaikoura County at South Bay—
South Bay Road (from its junction with the No. 1 State highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 96 chains measured generally in a southerly direction along South Bay Road from the said junction).

Limited Speed Zone Declared
——
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

So much of the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 21st day of December 1936,* as relates to an area in Ngaruawahia Borough is hereby revoked.

The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

No. 1 State highway (Awanui-Bluff) from its junction with Belt Street; thence in a south-easterly direction to the boundary of Ngaruawahia Borough.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

So much of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 10th day of April 1952,* as relates to an area at Whitianga in Coromandel County is hereby revoked.

The road specified in the first Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

No. 25 State highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) from a point 21 chains south of its junction with White Street to a point 6 chains north of the junction of the said State highway with Eyres Road.

SITUATED within Coromandel County at Whitianga—
No. 25 State highway (Pipiroa-Waihi via Coromandel) from a point 6 chains north of its junction with Eyres Road to a point 9 chains north-west of the junction of the said State highway with Racecourse Road.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
——
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
