✨ Weather Report, Regulations, Reserve Bank Statements
28 APRIL THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE 549
The South Island had been experiencing fair weather for about nine days. However, with the passage of a depression over South- land on the 23rd there was a deterioration except in Canterbury and parts of Marlborough, while further rain fell in western districts of the North Island. During the next three days another cold southerly change travelled over the country. However, South Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay still received very little rain. By the 26th the weather had cleared in all districts except Gisborne and Wellington. During the next three days pressure remained low near the Chatham Islands, while a small depression moved from South- land to Auckland, accompanied by a change to cold southerlies with rain. Thunderstorms with hail affected parts of Canterbury and the Wellington Province on the 29th. On the last two days of the month pressure remained low to the east, while an anticyclone was centred over the north Tasman Sea. The weather cleared, apart from showers with the south-westerlies on the West Coast and in Wairarapa and the King Country.
