NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING

PURSUANT to section 291 of the Companies Act 1955, notice is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of the above company will be held at the offices of Claude W. Evans and Co., Public Accountants, T. and G. Building, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, 21 January 1960, at 10.30 a.m., for the purpose of laying before it the liquidator's account of the winding up showing how the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of and of hearing from the liquidator any explanations thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition, under section 209 of the above Act, for an order declaring any special resolution passed at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above-named company convened for the 16th day of December 1959 be declared invalid and of no effect, and for an order directing that prior to the holding of any valid extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the above-named company to consider any special resolution enabling the proposed sale and purchase of the company’s assets to the Moa Farmers’ Cooperative Dairy Co. Ltd., and/or for the voluntary liquidation of the above-named company, the directors supply to all supplying shareholders of the above-named company full details of the proposal, its financial implications, and its future effect on the supplying shareholders of the above-named company, in such form and effect as may be approved of by the Court, was presented to the Supreme Court on the 9th day of December 1959 by Stanley George Knowles and Ronald William James Kerr, both of Tariki, dairy farmers. And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at New Plymouth, on Friday, the 5th day of February 1960, at 10 a.m.; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished by the undersigned to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring a copy on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

SECURITY RATE

Papanui Riding Works Loan 1959, £20,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing kerbing and channelling and reconstructing and sealing roads, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes a special rate of 0·20893d. (pence) in the £ (pound) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the special rating area, comprising the whole of the Papanui Riding of the Waimairi County; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 10 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and forty thousand pounds (£140,000) to be known as the Waterworks Loan 1959 which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of carrying out water-supply reticulation and upgrading of obsolescent reticulation in the City of Auckland and the cost of raising the loan, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (³⁄₈d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Auckland comprising the whole of the City of Auckland; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on, and payment of the principal of, a loan of £4,500 known as the Parking Loan 1959, £6,000, issue of £4,500, authorised to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council for the purpose of acquiring property on Rawene Road subsequently to be developed as a parking area, the said Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifteenth of one penny (¹⁄₁₅d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value, based on the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Birkenhead and comprising the whole of the said borough; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council held on the 22nd day of December 1959.
