Notice of Intention to Take Land for Road in Block XII, Wakamarina Survey District

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Havelock, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land, should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

The Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 23

PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 23, and shall be read together with and deemed to be part of the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

2. This notice shall come into force on the 7th day of March 1960.

3. The principal notice is hereby amended by inserting in the Schedule thereto, under the general heading Groceries, Foodstuffs, and Related Commodities, the following:

Meat—

All meat, fresh, chilled, or frozen (intended for human consumption) of the following kinds or descriptions: veal, beef, pork, lamb, hogget, or mutton; but excluding offals, bacon, ham, mincemeat, sausages and sausage meat, saveloys and saveloy sausage meat, and all deep frozen pre-packaged meat.

Closely Populated Locality Declared and Revoking a Limited Speed Zone

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. That Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956* dated the 2nd day of September 1957† which relates to an area at Pukerua Bay in Hutt County is hereby revoked.

2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

The Wellington-Paekakariki Centennial State Highway (from a point 3 chains south of its junction with Gray Street to a point 16 chains north-east of the junction of the said State highway with Pa Road).

Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
