Town District of Outram Merged in County of Taieri

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 23rd day of December 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

As from the 31st day of March 1960, the Outram Town Council is hereby dissolved and the Town District of Outram is hereby merged in the County of Taieri.
The dissolution of the said town council and the merger of the said town district in the said county shall be deemed to have been effected under the Counties Act 1956.
(a) As from the 31st day of March 1960, the Outram Secondary Urban Fire District is hereby abolished.

(b) On and from the 1st day of April 1960, the urban area of Outram, being the area merged in the County of Taieri as aforesaid, is hereby constituted a secondary urban fire district by the name of the Outram Secondary Urban Fire District.

(c) The constitution of the Outram Secondary Urban Fire District shall be deemed to have been effected under the Fire Services Act 1949.

Declaring Certain Matters to be Appropriate to Reorganisation Scheme to be Issued by Local Government Commission

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

In any reorganisation scheme approved by the Local Government Commission providing for the constitution of a new borough comprising the present Boroughs of Devonport, Birkenhead, Northcote, Takapuna, and East Coast Bays, and any area or areas of the County of Waitemata adjoining any of those boroughs, the Local Government Commission may make such provisions as are necessary with respect to:

(a) The first election of Mayor and Councillors of the new borough; and

(b) The discharge of the functions of the borough council pending the first election of Councillors.
