Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block V, Paritutu Survey District, for State Housing Purposes (Merrilands, New Plymouth)

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for State housing purposes; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post Office at New Plymouth and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing, and send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT

ALL those pieces of land situated in Block V, Paritutu Survey District, Taranaki R.D., described as follows:

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 160577 (S.O. 9108) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Masterton County at Tinui—

Charles Street (from its junction with Alfredton Road to a point 16 chains measured in a south-westerly direction along Charles Street from the said junction).

Alfredton Road (from its junction with Charles Street to a point 24 chains measured in a northerly direction along Alfredton Road from the said junction).

Castlepoint Road (from its junction with Charles Street to the junction of Castlepoint Road with the Masterton-Castlepoint via Tinui Main Highway).

The Te Kuiti - New Plymouth State Highway (from a point 10 chains south of its junction with Takarei Terrace to a point 12 chains north of the junction of Rangi Street with the Te Kuiti - New Plymouth State Highway).

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the roads specified in the Schedule hereto are each year, within the periods set out below, hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  1. From the 22nd day of December to the 12th day of January following.

  2. From the Thursday preceding Good Friday to the following Tuesday.

  3. From the Friday preceding Labour Day to the following Tuesday.

  4. From the second Friday after Labour Day to the following Tuesday.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Kaikoura County at Goose Bay—

The Picton-Christchurch State Highway (from a point 1 mile 64 chains north-east of the bridge over the Christchurch-Picton Main Trunk Railway at Oaro to a point 2 miles 56 chains north-east of the said bridge).

The Picton-Christchurch State Highway (from a point 3 miles 32 chains north-east of the bridge over the Christchurch-Picton Main Trunk Railway at Oaro to a point 3 miles 72 chains north-east of the said bridge).

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SITUATED within Morrinsville Borough—

The Hamilton-Paeroa State Highway (from the south-western boundary of Morrinsville Borough to a point 30 chains measured in a north-easterly direction from the said boundary).
