All that area in the Taranaki and Wellington Land Districts,
comprising portion of the Taumarunui County, bounded
by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the
Wanganui River in line with the south-western boundary
of Block VIII, Heao Survey District; thence north-westerly
to and along the south-western boundary of that block,
the south-western boundary of Block III, Heao Survey
District, and the south-western boundary of Koiro 5c Block
to and northerly along the western boundary of that block,
across Koiro Road, again northerly along the western
boundary of Koiro 5c Block, across Koiro Road to and
again northerly along the western boundary of part Koiro 5B Block,
the western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 7329, across Kaikara
Road to and northerly along the western boundary of part
Koiro 5A Block to its north-western corner; thence generally
easterly along the northern boundary of that block and
the northern boundary of Koiro 4A Block, across Otuiti
Road to the western boundary of Section 1, Block III,
Heao Survey District; thence northerly along the western
boundary of that section to the southern boundary of Block
XV, Ohura Survey District, thence westerly along the
southern boundary of that block, across Otuiti Road to
the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6343; thence northerly
along the western boundary of that lot and its production

boundary of the last-mentioned lot to the southern boundary
of Section 3, Block VIII, Ohura Survey District; thence
easterly and northerly along the southern and eastern
boundaries of that section and again northerly along the
eastern boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Ohura Survey
District, to Ararimu Road; thence westerly along the southern
side of that road to a point in line with the western boundary
of Section 12, Block VIII, Ohura Survey District; thence
northerly along a right line across Ararimu Road to and
along the western boundary of the said Section 12 and
northerly and easterly along the western and northern
boundaries of Section 8, Block IV, Ohura Survey District,
to the southern boundary of Block IV, Ohura Survey District;
thence easterly generally along the southern boundary of
that block and the southern boundary of Block I, Rangi
Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Section 6,

right line to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4180,

Lot 1 across the Te Kuiti -National Park State Highway
to and easterly along the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P.
4041, and its production to the middle of the Ongarue River,
thence southerly generally down the middle of that river to
the northern boundary of the Borough of Taumarunui as
hereinbefore described; thence southerly along the western
boundary of that borough to the middle of the Wanganui

line with the south-western boundary of Section 4, Block III,
Hunua Survey District; thence south-easterly along the
south-western boundary of Hunua Riding hereinbefore described
to the southern boundary of Section 8, Block VIII,
Hunua Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary
to the south-eastern side of Pokatea-Kokakonui road; thence
south-westerly along that side to the south-eastern boundary

across Te Rata Road to and along the south-eastern
boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 4, Block VII, the south-
western boundary of Section 10, Block VII, Retaruke Survey
District, to the middle of the Waipahihi Stream; thence down
the middle of that stream and up the middle of the Wanganui
River to the point of commencement.

Commission of Inquiry—Accident at Auckland Farmers
Freezing Co. Ltd. Premises, Kings Wharf, Auckland

It is hereby notified that a Commission of Inquiry has been
appointed to inquire into and report upon the accident which
occurred at the Kings Wharf premises at Auckland of the
Auckland Farmers Freezing Co. Ltd. on the 3rd day of
September 1959, and matters incidental thereto, viz:

(a) The cause or causes of the accident in which, as the
result of an escape of ammonia, two members of
the public were killed, four members of the public
were injured, and other members of the public were,
or might have been, exposed to risk of death or
injury;

(b) The adequacy and suitability of the design, materials,
and construction of—
(i) the pipe from which the said ammonia escaped,
and
(ii) the piping installed elsewhere in the said
premises for carrying ammonia;

(c) The sufficiency from the point of view of safety of
the inspection and maintenance systems in operation
in respect of the ammonia refrigeration plant in
the said premises;

(d) The working of any existing law in its relation to
industrial ammonia refrigeration plants;

(e) Whether any legislation is necessary or expedient for
the safety of workers employed in industrial premises
equipped with ammonia refrigeration plants or other
persons lawfully in or in the vicinity of such
premises.

The Commission will commence the inquiry at the Magis-
istrate's Court (Court Room No. 7, Fifth Floor), Kitchener
Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 2nd day of November
1959, at 10 a.m.

All persons desiring to give evidence are requested to
communicate in writing with Mr J. W. Bain, counsel assisting
the Commission, whose address is at the Crown Law Office,
Wellington, as soon as possible. To facilitate the work of the
Commission it is requested that prepared statements be sub-
mitted where possible. These prepared statements may be
supported and supplemented by oral evidence given personally
before the Commission if desired.

Classification of Roads in Mangonui County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (11) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle
Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby
revokes that portion of the Warrant, dated the 24th day of
May 1951†, which relates to the roads described in the
Schedule hereto, and hereby approves the Mangonui County
Council's proposed variation in the classification of the roads
described in the said Schedule and situated in Mangonui
County.

CLOUGHS Road, Kohumaru Road, Parapara-Toa Toa Road,
