of County of Taumarunui Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act
1954, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby defines, as
set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Borough
of Taumarunui, the County of Taumarunui, and the Taringa-
motu, Pungapunga, Hunua, and Otunui Ridings of the County
of Taumarunui, the previous boundaries having been altered
by Order in Council made on the 25th day of February 1959
and published in Gazette, 26 February 1959, No. 12, page 236.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF TAUMARUNUI

All that area in the South Auckland, Taranaki, and Wellington
Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at a point in
the middle of the Taringamotu River due north of the north-
western corner of Section 60, Block XIII, Tuhua Survey
District, and proceeding south-easterly generally along a
right line to and along the eastern side of a public road
forming the western boundaries of Sections 60 and 61 of the
said Block XIII, along a right line being the last-mentioned
boundary produced across Taringamotu Road to and along
its eastern side to and up the middle of a stream flowing
through Sections 14 and 59 of the said Block XIII, to and
along the south-western boundary and the north-eastern
side of a public road forming another part of the south-
western boundary of Section 18 of the said Block XIII, to
and up the middle of the Mangakahikatoa Stream, to and
along the south-western boundary of Section 57 of the said

Te Kuiti - National Park State Highway No. 27; thence
north-easterly along that north-western boundary to a point
distant 10 chains from the Te Kuiti - National Park State
Highway No. 27; thence along a right line to a point on
the north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3G 3,
Lot 11, B 2 Block, distant 7 chains from the Te Kuiti - National
Park State Highway No. 27; thence north-easterly along
the last-mentioned boundary crossing the Te Kuiti - National
Park State Highway No. 27, and north-easterly along the
north-western boundary of Ohura South N 2E 3c Block and
its production to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence
up the middle of that river to a point in line with the
northern boundary of Ohura South 2B Block; thence along
a right line to and along the northern and eastern boundaries
of that block to its south-eastern corner; thence along a
right line across Golf Road to the opposite road angle and
along that part of the western boundary of Section 15,
Block XIII, Tuhua Survey District, bearing 58° 17' distant
211·5 links to an angle; thence northerly along a right line
parallel to the eastern side of Golf Road aforesaid (bearing
11° 27') to and up the middle of the Taringamotu River to
the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF TAUMARUNUI

All that area in the South Auckland, Taranaki, and
Wellington Land Districts bounded by a line commencing
at the Trig. Station 1390, Pureora, in Block III, Hurakia
Survey District, and proceeding southerly along the western
boundary of part Tihoi 3B Block; thence southerly and
easterly along the western and southern boundaries of Tihoi
3B 8A Block; thence southerly along another part of the
western boundary of part Tihoi 3B Block and the western
boundary of Tihoi 1 Block to the western shore of Lake
Taupo; thence southerly along that shore to the mouth of
the Waihi Stream; thence south-westerly along right lines
to Tongariro Trig. Station, Ngauruahoe Trig. Station, and
Paretetaitonga Trig. Station; thence westerly along a right line
to Te Kahatu Trig. Station, a right line to the source of
the Makatote Stream and down the middle of that stream
to the eastern boundary of Section 13, Block VIII, Manganui
Survey District; thence due south along a right line to the
middle of the Manganuiateao River; thence westerly down
the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern
boundary of Section 24, Block XI, Manganui Survey District;
thence north-westerly generally to and along that boundary
