Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Closely Populated Localities Declared and Revoking an Exclusion from Speed Limitation

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

1. So much of the Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 4th day of February 1937,* as relates to an area in Howick Borough is hereby revoked.

2. The roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Manukau County adjacent to Howick Borough—

1. Botany Road (from its junction with the Ellerslie-Howick Main Highway to a point 1 chain south of the junctions of Bradbury’s Road and Union Road with Botany Road).

2. The Ellerslie-Howick Main Highway (from its junction with Botany Road to the south-western boundary of Howick Borough).

3. Bleakhouse Road (from its junction with Hutchinson’s Road to the north-western boundary of Howick Borough).

4. Bradbury’s Road.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*
