THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
Members of National Parks Authority Appointed
Pursuant to subsection (1), (f), (g), (h), and (i) of
section 4 of the National Parks Act 1952, the under-mentioned
persons are hereby appointed to be members of the National
Parks Authority for a term of three years from 1 April 1959:
Francis Raymond Callaghan (on the recommendation of
the Royal Society of New Zealand);
Alfred Morris Jones (on the recommendation of the
Executive of the Forest and Bird Protection Society of
New Zealand, Incorporated);
Roderick Syme (on the recommendation of the Dominion
Executive of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New
Zealand, Incorporated); and
Lancelot William McCaskill, M.AGR.SC., DIP.C.A.C.,
to represent the National Park Boards constituted under the
aforesaid Act.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed
Pursuant to section 10 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1947,
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
appoint
John Francis Keane, Esquire, of Rotorua, Barrister and
Solicitor,
to be a Stipendiary Magistrate to exercise civil and criminal
jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to hold and exercise the
duties of such office from the 30th day of September 1959
to the 30th day of April 1960.

Stipendiary Magistrate Appointed to Exercise Jurisdiction in
a Children's Court
Pursuant to section 27 of the Child Welfare Act 1925, His
Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
John Francis Keane, Esquire, Stipendiary Magistrate,
to exercise jurisdiction in the Children's Court established at
Wellington, from the 30th day of September 1959 to the 30th
day of September 1960.

Warden Appointed
Pursuant to section 9 of the Mining Act 1926, His Excellency
the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
John Francis Keane, Esquire, Stipendiary Magistrate,
to be a Warden, from the 30th day of September 1959, to
hold and exercise the duties of such office, under and subject
to the provisions of the said Act, during pleasure.

Chairman of Licensing Control Commission Appointed
Pursuant to section 3 (2) of the Licensing Amendment Act
1948, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to appoint
Kendrick Gee Archer, Esquire, Judge of the Land Valuation
Court,
to be Chairman of the Licensing Control Commission on and
from the 1st day of September 1959.

Member of Licensing Committee Appointed
Pursuant to section 49 of the Licensing Act 1908, His
Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
James Henry Johnston, Esquire, J.P., of Napier,
to be a member of the Licensing Committee for the Licensing
District of Napier, vice Alfred James McGlashan, deceased.

Additional Member of Tokorima Rabbit Board (Notice
No. Ag. 6828)
Pursuant to section 25 of the Rabbits Act 1955, the Minister
of Agriculture hereby publishes the following resolution passed
by the Tokorima Rabbit Board on the 15th day of July 1959.
RESOLUTION
"THAT, pursuant to section 25 of the Rabbits Act 1955, elective
membership of the Tokorima Rabbit Board is increased to six
as from 15 July 1959."

Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby revokes the reservation over that part of the
reserve for scenic purposes described in the Schedule hereto.

Reservation of Land and Declaration That Land be Part of
the Tarata Domain
Pursuant to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby
sets apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as a
reserve for recreation purposes, and further, pursuant to the
Reserves and Domains Act 1953, declares the said reserve to
be a public domain, subject to the provisions of Part III of
the last-mentioned Act, to form part of the Tarata Domain
to be administered as a public domain by the Domain
Board.

Reservation of Land and Vesting in the Whangarei County
Council
Pursuant to the Land Act 1948, the Minister of Lands hereby

reserve for a site for a community centre, and further, pursuant
to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, vests the said
reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the
County of Whangarei, in trust, for that purpose.
