Amendment of Standard Specification

PURSUANT to the Standards Act 1941 and the regulations made thereunder, the Minister of Industries and Commerce, on 26 January 1959, amended the under-mentioned standard specification by the incorporation of the amendments shown hereunder:

Number and Title of Specification: N.Z.S.S. 1246 : 1959: Earthing clamps; being B.S. 951 : 1948, amended to meet New Zealand requirements.

Amendment: No. 2 (Ref. No. PD 1102, November 1950). No. 3 (Ref. No. PD 1470, 29 August 1952).

Price of Copy (Post Free): 2s. 6d.

Application for copies of the standard specification so amended should be made to the N.Z. Standards Institute, Hamilton Chambers, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C.1. Copies of the amendment will be supplied, free of charge, upon request.

Declaration of a Subsidised Highway

NOTICE is hereby given that, at its meeting held in Wellington on 11 December 1958, the National Roads Board resolved as follows:

  1. The National Roads Board, by resolution, pursuant to subsection (4) of section 2 of the National Roads Act 1953, hereby determines that that length of road known as the Shelly Beach Flyover, being portion of the southern approach to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, commencing at a point in the middle of Shelly Beach Road opposite the westernmost corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 30716, and proceeding thence in a northerly direction generally for a distance of 22 chains approximately and terminating at its junction with the Fanshawe Street Approach at a point distant approximately 7.36 chains south of the southern end of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Structure; as the same is more particularly delineated on the Plan P.W.D. 157113 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red, is carriageway.

  2. The National Roads Board, by resolution, pursuant to section 12A of the National Roads Act 1953, hereby determines that that length of carriageway known as the Shelly Beach Flyover, which the Board determined to be carriageway by resolution passed on the 11th day of December 1958, being portion of the southern approach to the Auckland Harbour Bridge, commencing at a point in the middle of Shelly Beach Road opposite the westernmost corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 30716, and proceeding thence in a northerly direction generally for a distance of 22 chains approximately and terminating at its junction with the Fanshawe Street Approach at a point distant approximately 7.36 chains south of the southern end of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Structure; as the same is more particularly delineated on the Plan P.W.D. 157113 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red, which carriageway is under the control of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Authority, established under the Auckland Harbour Bridge Act 1950, and which carriageway, in the opinion of the board, will be regularly or continuously available for public use shall, while it is so available, be a subsidised highway.

Classification of Road in Egmont County

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (11) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 1st day of June 1950†, in so far as it applies to Patiki Road in Egmont County, and hereby approves the Egmont County Council's proposed classification of the said road, as set out in the Schedule hereto and situated in Egmont County.
