TE AROHA JOCKEY CLUB (INC.) REGULATIONS

(Under the Gaming Act 1908)

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of the
    same being published in the Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,”
    and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those
    terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act 1908.

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described or any other racecourse
    while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race
    meeting, namely:
    (a) Bookmakers.
    (b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and book-
    makers’ agents.
    (c) All persons under disqualification imposed under the New
    Zealand rules of racing or the New Zealand rules of
    trotting or by the racing or trotting authorities in any
    country outside New Zealand which have reciprocal
    agreements in matters of racing or trotting with the
    New Zealand Racing Conference or the New Zealand
    Trotting Conference.
    (d) Common prostitutes, idle and disorderly persons within
    the meaning of the Police Offences Act 1927.
    (e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking,
    burglary, or pocket picking, forgery, uttering or
    possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, re-
    ceiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence
    or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act 1908, and
    persons convicted under the Police Offences Act 1927
    of conversion or attempted conversion of a motorcar
    or other vehicle or of being idle and disorderly persons
    or of being a rogue and vagabond and persons con-
    victed of an offence under the Gaming Act 1908, or
    persons having a criminal record in countries outside
    New Zealand and the references to the foregoing Acts
    shall be deemed to apply to any subsequent Act con-
    solidating or in substitution therefor.

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by
the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by
evidence as to the character and otherwise that any person who,
by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this
regulation should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant
exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke
any such exemption without notice to such person, and without
assigning any reason for such revocation.

CITY OF DUNEDIN

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and in the
matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and
Citizens of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called “the said
Corporation”) proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, to
widen the corner of Glenpark and Mitchell Avenues in the
City of Dunedin, and for the purposes of such public work
the land described in the Schedule hereto requires to be
taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the
said land so required to be taken is deposited in the Municipal
Chambers of the said Corporation, situated at the Octagon in
the said City of Dunedin, and is open for inspection, without
fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all
persons affected by the execution of the said public work or
by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well
grounded objection to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing
and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.

SCHEDULE

THAT piece of land containing 11·2 poles, more or less, being
part Allotment 60, Deposited Plan 2284, being part Section
62, Block VI, Town District of Dunedin, in the Land District
of Otago, and being part of the land comprised in certificate
of title, register book, Volume 173, folio 197 (Otago Land
Registry); as the same is more particularly shown on S.O.
Plan No. 12736, and thereon coloured orange.

WHANGAREI COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

Notice is hereby given, under the provisions of the Public
Works Act 1928, that the Whangarei County Council pro-
poses, under the provisions of the said Act, to take the pieces
of land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice
is hereby further given that a plan of the pieces of land
required to be taken is deposited in the office of the said
Council, situated in Rose Street, Whangarei, and is open for
inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office
hours.

All persons affected by the taking of such land who have
any well grounded objections to the taking of the said lands
must lodge their objections in writing and send the same,
within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to
the County Clerk, Whangarei County Council, Rose Street,
Whangarei.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

Public notice is hereby given that the Raglan County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928,
to take for road the portions of land described in the First
Schedule hereto and to close the portions of road described
in the Second Schedule hereto.

A plan of the portions of land proposed to be taken and
of the portions of road proposed to be closed is open for
public inspection at the office of the Raglan County Council,
Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia, during 40 days from the date
of the first publication of this notice. All persons objecting
to the proposal must lodge their objections in writing at the
office of the Council on or before the 16th day of September
1959.
