THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by
the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by
evidence as to the character and otherwise that any person
who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of
this regulation should have relief from the effect thereof, may
grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time
revoke any such exemption without notice to such person,
and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

REEFTON JOCKEY CLUB (INC.) RESOLUTION
At a special general meeting of the Reefton Jockey Club
(Inc.) held on the 28th day of May 1959 at Reefton, it was
duly resolved as follows:
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers under section 33
of the Gaming Act 1908, it is hereby resolved that the regulations dated the 13th day of December 1922 are hereby revoked,
and in lieu thereof the following regulations shall be regulations under the said section 33 controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Reefton Racecourse situated in the District of Reefton and known as the Reefton Racecourse or to any other racecourse used or occupied by the club for race meetings.”
REEFTON JOCKEY CLUB (Inc.) REGULATIONS
(Under the Gaming Act 1908)
- These regulations shall come into force on the date of the
same being published in the Gazette. - In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,”
and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act 1908. - The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the racecourse above described or any other racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:
(a) Bookmakers.
(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and book-
makers’ agents.
(c) All persons under disqualification imposed under the
New Zealand rules of racing or the New Zealand rules of trotting or by the racing or trotting authorities in any country outside New Zealand which have reciprocal agreements in matters of racing or trotting with the New Zealand Racing Conference or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.
(d) Common prostitutes, idle and disorderly persons within
the meaning of the Police Offences Act 1927.
(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house breaking,
burglary, or pocket picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act 1908, and persons convicted under the Police Offences Act 1927 of conversion or attempted conversion of a motorcar or other vehicle or of being idle and disorderly persons or of being a rogue and vagabond and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act 1908, or persons having a criminal record in countries outside New Zealand and the references to the foregoing Acts shall be deemed to apply to any subsequent Act consolidating or in substitution therefor.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
Subscriptions—The subscription is at the rate of £5 5s. per
calendar year, including postage, payable in advance.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.
Single copies of the Gazette as follows:
For the first 16 pages, 6d., increasing by 6d. for every
subsequent 8 pages or part thereof.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for
the first insertion, and 6d. per line for the second and any
subsequent insertions.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
STATUTORY REGULATIONS
Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of
general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:
(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing),
subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.
(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram,
35s. per volume (Volumes for years 1936-37 and
1939–42 are out of print.)
(3) Separate regulations as issued.
The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating
the purchase of extra copies.
Orders should be placed with the Government Printer,
Publications Branch, Wellington C. 1. Separate copies of
regulations may also be purchased from the Printing and
Stationery Department, 130 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, or
from the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.
The following publications are obtainable from the Government Printer, at Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, or
through the Chief Post Office at Dunedin.
Free Postage: All Publications sold by the Department are
now post free—except that when trade discount is allowed,
postage or freight is payable by the purchaser.
All references to postage in previous lists, catalogues, etc.,
should be amended accordingly.
