Declaring Stopped Government Road to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the stopped Government road described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 20th day of July 1959.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of stopped Government road containing 10 acres 3 roods 19 perches, situated in Block VI, Takahue Survey District, Auckland R.D., and adjoining or passing through Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 15510, being parts Section 5, Lot 1, D.P. 10066, being part Section 5, Sections 26, 54, 55, and 56, Okerimene C Block, closed road, and Crown land; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 158987 (S.O. 40415) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Howick Borough
(Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions)
PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Howick Borough Council in the interests of the Howick Borough district scheme, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of February 1960 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of February 1960.

Declaring Land Together With a Right of Way Acquired for a Government Work at Mosgiel and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 20th day of July 1959, together with a right of way contained in conveyance No. 68509 (Otago Registry).
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared Crown land: 5 acres 2 roods 11·2 perches.
Being railway land being Proclamation 1486 (part Sections 24 and 384R), Proclamation 1448 (part Sections 24 and 384R), and part Section 25; together with the right of way through part Section 25, as contained in conveyance No. 68509 (Otago Registry).
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 16051 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon edged purple.

Limited Speed Zone Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1959, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

Declaring the Carriage by Goods-service Vehicle of Metal, Gravel, Shingle, Scoria, Sand, Pumice, Soil, and Spoil to be a Goods Service
PURSUANT to section 98 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby declares that the carriage by goods-service vehicle (whether for hire or reward or not) of road metal, gravel, shingle, scoria, sand, pumice, soil, or spoil shall be deemed, for the purposes of Part VI of the Transport Act 1949, to be a goods service within the meaning of the said Act, and hereby further declares that this order shall not apply to any goods-service vehicle:
(a) Owned by the Crown, the National Roads Board, a public body, or a local authority within the meaning of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1953; or
(b) Used by the owner of the vehicle for the carriage of the said goods for work in connection with his own property; or
(c) Owned by a builder and used in direct connection with his building operations; or
(d) Owned by a contractor and used by him for the cartage of the said goods in such circumstances that they are owned and used by him for some constructional operation which involves the said contractor in work additional to the supply, cartage, dumping, or spreading thereof, provided always that the shaping, grading, or consolidation of the said materials shall not be deemed to constitute spreading for the purposes of this subclause; or
(e) That with the load it is for the time being carrying does not weigh more than 2½ tons;
and hereby revokes the order for a similar purpose dated the 30th day of August 1958.*

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being testing officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.
