Notice Under the National Savings Act 1940, Section 4

—

PURSUANT to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes that the twentieth investment period shall run from 30 June 1959 to 30 June 1960.

The rate of interest to be paid on investments in an investment account during such investment period shall be 3½ per cent.

Moneys invested during such investment period by deposit in an investment account shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1962.

Provided that where interest is not withdrawn in terms of section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to the principal moneys of the investor, such amount of interest, together with interest thereon, shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1960.

PURSUANT to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby authorises the trustees of the under-mentioned savings banks (being savings banks constituted under the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948) to receive investments by way of deposit in investment accounts under the National Savings Act 1940 during the investment period expiring on 30 June 1960:
