Notice of Intention to Take Land and Easements Over Land
for Soil Conservation and River Control Purposes in
Block X, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, on the Bank
of the Rangitaiki River Near Te Teko

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the pro-
visions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land
described in the First Schedule hereto for soil conservation
and river control purposes, and to take easements for soil
conservation and river control purposes over the land des-
cribed in the Second and Third Schedules hereto, vesting in
Her Majesty the Queen, first, full and free liberty, right,
licence, and authority in perpetuity to erect, suspend, renew,
repair, and maintain cables over the land described in the
Second Schedule hereto and, secondly, full and free liberty,
right, licence, and authority in perpetuity to construct and
use a right of way with the right for Her Majesty’s servants,
agents, and workmen from time to time and at all times
hereafter to go, pass, and repass, with or without horses or
other animals or vehicles, over the land described in the
Third Schedule hereto, and to maintain, repair, and keep
open the said right of way for the purpose of providing
access to the land described in the First Schedule hereto, such
easements to be held appurtenant thereto: and notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land and easements
so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at
Te Teko and is there open for inspection, and that all persons
affected by the taking of the said land and easements should,
if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of
such land and easements, set forth the same in writing and
send the writing, within 40 days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

FIRST SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 7·7 perches, situated in
Block X, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, Auckland R.D.,
being part Omataroa 5A 4A Block; coloured yellow, edged
yellow, on plan.

SECOND SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 8·6 perches, situated in
Block X, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, Auckland R.D.,
being part Omataroa 5A 4A Block; coloured yellow on plan.

THIRD SCHEDULE
SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that piece of land containing 32 perches, situated in
Block X, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, Auckland R.D.,
being part Omataroa 5A 4A Block; coloured yellow on plan.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 158887 (S.O. 39760) deposited in the office
of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured
as above mentioned.

The Control of Prices Act 1947 (Ticketing of Goods)
Notice 1959, No. 1

PURSUANT to section 47A of the Control of Prices Act 1947,
the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the
following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices
    (Ticketing of Goods) Notice 1959, No. 1, and shall come into
    force on the 5th day of June 1959.

  2. This notice shall apply to all fresh, frozen, smoked, or
    otherwise preserved fish, including shellfish, sold by retail
    (other than to sales by auction), but shall not apply to canned
    fish or to cooked fish other than cooked crayfish.

  3. Every retailer whose main business is the retail selling of
    fish to which this notice applies, shall display in his shop
    window so as to be easily read by passers-by and also in his
    shop in a prominent position so as to be easily read by
    customers, a price list in legible and prominent characters
    showing in respect of each kind of fish offered, exposed or
    available for sale the price per pound in accordance with the
    state of preparation in which the fish is offered, exposed or
    available for sale or, where in accordance with the customary
    practice within the trade fish is offered, exposed or available
    for sale otherwise than by weight, the price per unit or lot.

  4. Every retailer of fish, to which this notice applies, other
    than retailers whose main business is the retail selling of fish,
    shall display in a prominent position in close proximity to all
    fish, to which this notice applies, offered, exposed or available
    for sale, so as to be easily read by customers, a price list in
    legible and prominent characters showing in respect of each
    kind of fish the price per pound in accordance with the state
    of preparation in which the fish is offered, exposed or avail-
    able for sale or, where in accordance with the customary prac-
    tice in the trade fish is offered, exposed or available for sale
    otherwise than by weight, the price per unit or lot.

  5. Every retailer who offers, exposes or has available for
    sale any fish to which this notice applies shall affix to or
    keep in a prominent position in such proximity to the fish to
    which it relates as to be obviously in relation thereto a ticket,
    placard, or label showing in legible and prominent characters
    the kind of fish and the state of preparation and the retail
    price per pound or, where in accordance with the customary
    practice within the trade the fish is offered, exposed or avail-
    able for sale otherwise than by weight, the price per unit or
    lot.

Scheme of Control of Mana College

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister
of Education hereby approves of the revocation of the scheme
of control of Porirua Post-primary School published in the
Gazette on 20 September 1956, Volume III, page 1297; and
of Mana College being controlled in accordance with the
Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published
in the Gazette on 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that:

(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
the words “by the Council of the nearest borough
within five miles of the school every such member
shall be appointed by a resolution of such Council”
were omitted, and the words “jointly by the Hutt
County Council, the Tawa Borough Council, and the
Makara County Council, the member shall be
appointed by a resolution by each of the Councils”
were substituted therefor; also as if the word “Council”
where it last appears in that clause were omitted,
and the word “Councils” were substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
the words “Such election shall be held in the first
week of the month of May in the year 1929” were
omitted and the words “The first such election shall
be held not later than the first week of the month of
May in the year 1959, and such an election shall be
held in the first week of the month of May in the
year 1961” were substituted therefor:

(c) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
the words “an Education Board or Borough Council
shall himself be a member of such body” were
omitted, and the words “the Wellington Education
Board or jointly by the Hutt County Council, the
Tawa Borough Council, and the Makara County
Council shall himself be a member of that Board or
of one of those local bodies” were substituted
therefor:

(d) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to
the year 1961:

(e) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43 were
revoked, and the clause set out in the Schedule hereto
were substituted therefor:

SCHEDULE

Clause to be Substituted for Clause 43 of the Standard
Scheme

  1. From time to time as may be necessary the Board shall
    appoint a Secretary, and shall appoint him or some other
    person with authority to receive money on the Board’s account.
    The Board shall forthwith inform the Minister of every such
    appointment. Where the Principal is appointed Secretary of the
    Board he shall not receive any additional remuneration in
    respect of that appointment.

Scheme of Control of Paeroa College

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister
of Education hereby approves of Paeroa College
being controlled as from 1 June 1959, in accordance with the
Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published
in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that:

(a) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
the words “Such election shall be held in the first
week of the month of May in the year 1929” were
omitted, and the words “The first such election shall
be held on a date to be fixed by the South Auckland
Education Board and such an election shall be held
in the first week of the month of May 1961” were
substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if
every reference to the year 1929 were a reference
to the year 1961:

(c) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43
were revoked and the clause set out in the Schedule
hereto were substituted therefor:
