Pukaki Rabbit District Order 1959 (Notice No. Ag. 6670)

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 14th day of January 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Pukaki Rabbit District Order 1959.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The boundaries of the Pukaki Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 30th day of March 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined, and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE PUKAKI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts, Counties of Mackenzie and Waitaki, containing 434,300 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Waitaki and Ohau Rivers and proceeding north-westerly generally along the middle of the Ohau River, the eastern shore of Lake Ohau and the left bank of the Hopkins River to a point due east of Temple Stream; thence westerly generally to and along the middle of that stream to its source on the Barrier Range, near Mount Maitland; thence northerly generally along that range to Mount Strauchan on the Main Divide; thence north-easterly generally along the Main Divide to Copland Pass; thence easterly along a right line to Proud Pass on the Mount Cook Range; thence north-easterly generally to and along the southern side of the Ball Glacier to the western side of the Tasman Glacier; thence southerly generally along the western side of the Tasman Glacier, the right bank of the Tasman River, the western shore of Lake Pukaki to the middle of the Pukaki River at the outlet of the said lake; thence southerly along the middle of that river and the Waitaki River to the point of commencement.

Boundaries of County of Halswell and City of Christchurch Altered

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 21st day of January 1959

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1959 the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby excluded from the County of Halswell and included in the City of Christchurch.

  2. The alteration of boundaries of the said county and the said city hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF HALSWELL AND INCLUDED IN CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing 51 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of Halswell Road in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 340, in Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, the said point being on the boundary of the City of Christchurch, as described in Gazette 1955, page 1094, and proceeding north-easterly, south-easterly, and south-westerly along that city boundary to the northernmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 3217, thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 6, 5, and 1, D.P. 3217, to the easternmost corner of Rural Section 340, thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that rural section and its production to the point of commencement.

Setting Apart European Land Owned by Maoris as a Maori Reservation

At the Government House at Wellington this 23rd day of December 1958

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the European land owned by Maoris described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the purposes of a meeting place and community centre for the common use of the Maoris of the Marton district.

Amending Contributions Payable by Uniting Local Authorities to Hawera Fire Board

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. On and from the 1st day of April 1959 the amount to be paid to the Hawera Fire Board by the uniting local authorities, pursuant to section 53 of the Fire Services Act 1949, shall as between each of those uniting local authorities, be in the following proportions:

(a) Hawera Borough Council: sixty-two eightieths.
(b) Hawera County Council: fifteen-eightieths.
(c) Normanby Town Council: three-eightieths.

  1. Clause 4 of the Order in Council made on the 28th day of March 1955 and published in Gazette, 31 March 1955, No. 25, page 586, constituting the Hawera United Urban Fire District, is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Waikato Savings Bank Order 1959.

  2. Interpretation—In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,—

“The Act” means the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948:
“The Bank” means the Waikato Savings Bank:
“Board” means the Board of Trustees of the Bank.

  1. Establishment of Bank—Consent is hereby given to the establishment under the Act of a trustee savings bank under the name of the Waikato Savings Bank, having its head office in the City of Hamilton.

  2. Application of Act—The provisions of the Act shall apply to the Bank, subject to the provisions of this order.

  3. Term of office of trustees—Notwithstanding anything in section 7 (1) of the Act, the following provisions shall apply
