Special Order Made by Horowhenua County Council Altering Riding Boundaries
Pursuant to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following special order made by the Horowhenua County Council.
Dated at Wellington this 15th day of May 1959.

SPECIAL ORDER
That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 23 and 43 of the Counties Act 1956, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves by way of special order:
"(a) That the existing Te Horo Riding be divided into two ridings by severing therefrom all the area described in the First Schedule hereto annexed, such severed portion to be known as the Waikanae Riding, and the balance of the riding described in the Second Schedule to be known as the Te Horo Riding:
"(b) That this special order shall take effect on 16 October 1959."
FIRST SCHEDULE
WAIKANAE RIDING
All that area in the Wellington Land District, being portion of Horowhenua County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast, being the westernmost corner of Kukutauaki 1B 3; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundaries of that subdivision to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Ngarara West A 38; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned subdivision; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western boundary of that subdivision, the north-western boundary of Ngarara West A 44, and the north-western boundaries of Ngarara West A 42, to its southernmost corner; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Ngarara West A, Subdivisions 42, 43, and 45, the south-western boundary of Subdivision 79, to and along the north-western side of the Levin-Paekakariki State Highway to the north-eastern boundary of Subdivision 79; thence south-easterly across that State highway and the North Island Main Trunk Railway, to and along the south-western boundaries of part Ngawhakangutu No. 1 South and Section 7, Block VI, Kaitawa Survey District, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned
section; thence south-westerly along a right line to the north ern corner of Ngarara West C 24 and along the north western boundaries of that section and Sections 1 and 6, Block X, Kaitawa Survey District, to the middle of the Waikanae Upper Hutt Main Highway; thence south-westerly and northerly along the middle of that highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 3432 deposited as aforesaid; thence westerly generally to and along that boundary and the northern and western boundaries of that lot, the production of the last mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waikanae River, and down the middle of that river to a point in the middle of its mouth; thence north-easterly to and along the sea coast to the westernmost corner of Kukutauaki 1B 3, being the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
TE HORO RIDING
All that area in the Horowhenua County bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea coast in the middle of the mouth of the Otaki River; thence south-easterly generally up the middle of that river and including the island of Wana-O-te-Marangi, to a point opposite the north-western corner of Section 7A, Block IV, Kaitawa Survey District; thence along a right line to that corner and along a right line to the westernmost corner of the Waihoanga Block; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of that block and its production to the summit of the Tararua Range; thence south-westerly along the summit of that range to Mount Hector; thence westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 10, D.P. 618, situated in Block III, Akatarawa Survey District, and along the north-eastern boundary of that lot, across a public road, along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 8, D.P. 619, along the north-eastern boundary of Ngarara West C 18 to a point in the middle of the Ngatiawa River, down the middle of that river to a point in the middle of a branch road through Section 43, Block X, Kaitawa Survey District, along the middle of that road, Ngatiawa Road, and the Upper Hutt Waikanae Main Highway to a point on the boundary of the Waikanae Riding hereinbefore described; thence north-westerly generally along the boundaries of that riding to a point on the sea coast being the westernmost corner of Kukutauaki 1B 3; thence north-easterly along the sea coast to the point in the middle of the mouth of the Otaki River being the point of commencement.
