Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Waiohau Development Scheme)
Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 11 May 1933 and published in the Gazette, 18 May 1933, Volume II, page 1373.

Notice to Persons Affected by an Application for Licence Under the Licensed Industries Regulations
Pursuant to regulation 14 of the Licensed Industries Regulations 1957, notice is hereby given that the following application will be considered at a public sitting of the Licensed Industries Committee, to be held in the Board Room, Department of Industries and Commerce, First Floor, Departmental Building, Stout Street, Wellington C. 1, on Monday, 13 July, commencing at 10 a.m. Applicants and persons likely to be materially affected by the decision of the committee should communicate with the Secretary, Licensed Industries Committee, Department of Industries and Commerce, P.O. Box 2492, Wellington.
Applicant: Tasman Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd., Kawerau.
Application: A. That the company be granted the exclusive right to manufacture:
(1) Writing and printing papers and boards excluding such classes as are necessarily and customarily made on an M.G. cylinder paper machine but including and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following:
(a) Woodfree machine finished printing papers;
(b) Woodfree supercalendered printing papers;
(c) Woodfree offset printing papers;
(d) Woodfree writing papers;
(e) Manifold papers;
(f) Bank papers;
(g) Bond papers;
(h) Duplicating papers;
(i) Cover papers;
(j) Envelope papers;
(k) Antique and featherweight book-printing papers;
(l) Ledger and account-book papers;
(m) System and index boards;
(n) Coated and impregnated printing papers and boards;
and
(o) Other papers and boards of like natures or intended for similar uses.
(2) Wallpaper base papers.
B. That the company be granted the right to manufacture wrapping papers for the company’s own use with the right however to sell sideruns necessarily arising therefrom.
C. That the limitation on the proportion of sulphate pulp be removed from the definition of “Mechanical Printing Papers” as contained in the company’s existing licence.
All expressions used herein to describe any class of paper or board are intended to have the meaning commonly accepted within the paper trade in New Zealand.

The Standards Act 1941—New Zealand Standard Model General Bylaws (N.Z.S.S. 791) D. 5906: Draft Part XXVI, Licensing and Control of Boardinghouses and Apartment Buildings
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the New Zealand Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C. 1. The closing date for the receipt of comment is 11 July, 1959.

Amending Notice Relating to the Open Season for Game in Certain Acclimatisation Districts
Pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby amends the notice published in Gazette, No. 21, 9 April 1959, page 450, by adding to that part of the notice which relates to the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation District the following closed game area.
CLOSED GAME AREA
All that area of land situated near the Borough of Waipukurau and bounded by a line commencing at the point where Farm Road crosses the Mangatarata Stream; thence north-easterly down the Mangatarata Stream to its confluence with the Tuki Tuki River; thence north-westerly up the Tuki Tuki and Waipawa Rivers to the Palmerston North - Napier State Highway; thence southerly generally along that highway to and along the easterly boundary of the Borough of Waipukurau, to and along Farm Road to the Mangatarata Stream, the place of commencement.

Member of House of Representatives Elected—Hamilton Electoral District
Pursuant to the Electoral Act 1956, I have received a return to the writ issued by me on the 31st day of March 1959 for the election of a Member of Parliament to serve in the House of Representatives for the Hamilton Electoral District, and by the endorsement on that writ it appears that Lancelot Raymond Adams-Schneider has been duly elected to serve as a Member for the said district.
