Pursuant to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air
Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has
been pleased to approve the following appointments, pro-
motions, extensions of commissions, transfer, termination of
commission, and resignation of officers of the Royal New
Zealand Air Force:

Promotions

EDUCATION BRANCH
Transfer and Appointment
Flight Lieutenant (temp.) William Henry Burnell, B.A.
(130095), is transferred from the Administrative and Supply
Branch (Secretarial Division), Reserve of Air Force Officers,
to the Education Branch, Regular Air Force, and is granted
a short-service commission for a period of five years, to be
followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.
He is appointed to the rank of Flight Lieutenant, with
seniority and with effect from 1 April 1959.

MEDICAL BRANCH
Appointment
Allan McLean Thomson, M.B., CH.B. (79375), is granted
a short-service commission in the Medical Branch, Regular
Air Force, for a period of two years, to be followed by
four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is
appointed to the rank of Flying Officer with seniority from
6 July 1956, with effect from 10 April 1959.

Amendment
Flying Officer Graham Douglas Chainey (815293) is trans-
ferred from the General Duties Branch, Territorial Air Force,
to the Reserve of Air Force Officers from 1 August 1957
until 4 January 1964. This cancels Gazette notice, 29 August
1957, Vol. II, page 1582.

Appointment of Members of Paroa Domain Board

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby appoints

David Clark, the elder,
John Edmund Dick, and
Mervyn Arthur Gage
to be members of the Paroa Domain Board, Westland Land
District, in place of James Joseph Gill, Laurence Nicol Irvine,
the younger, and Harold James Pratt, all resigned, and further
increases the total number of members of the said Domain
Board from seven to eight and appoints
Ronald George Moore
as the additional member of the Board.

Appointment of the Whakatane County Council to Control
and Manage a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister
of Lands hereby appoints the
Whakatane County Council
to control and manage the reserve described in the Schedule
hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve
for soil conservation and river control purposes.
