NOTICE TO CREDITORS TO PROVE DEBTS OR CLAIMS

In the matter of the Companies Act 1955 and in the matter of J. L. Whiteman and Co. Ltd.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undersigned, the liquidator of J. L. Whiteman and Co. Ltd., which is being wound up voluntarily, does hereby fix the 15th day of May 1959 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims, and to establish any title they may have to priority under section 308 of the Companies Act 1955, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before the debts are proved or, as the case may be, from objecting to the distribution.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above company by the Supreme Court was, on the 29th day of April 1959, presented to the said Court by D. J. White Contractors (Auckland) Ltd., an incorporated company having its registered office at Hunua, near Auckland, Sol Pohio Ltd., an incorporated company having its registered office at Papakura, near Auckland, and Leslie James Rollerson, of Papakura, retired farmer, and Nancy Ada Rollerson, his wife, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before this Court sitting at Auckland on Friday, the 29th day of May 1959, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for the purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished by the undersigned to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring a copy on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Egmont County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the Egmont County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers under the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Egmont County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths of a penny (³⁄₁₆d.) in the pound upon all rateable property of the County of Egmont; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Egmont County Council held in the Council Chambers, Opunake, on the 9th day of December 1958, and as appearing from the minutes of such meeting.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Water Supply Extension Loan No. 4, 1959 of £40,000

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £40,000 authorised to be raised by the Waimairi County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the Council’s high-pressure water-supply system and to increase the pumping capacity at existing pumping stations, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes a special rate of ·024877d. (pence) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the special rating area comprising the whole of the Fendalton and Middleton Ridings of the county and the lands within the following area of the county: Commencing on Yaldhurst Road at the Middleton Riding boundary; along Yaldhurst Road to Russley Road; thence north along Russley Road to Memorial Avenue; east along Memorial Avenue to the eastern boundary of the Russley Golf Course; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of this golf course to Wairakei Road; thence in an easterly direction along Wairakei Road to a point 2 chains west of Wooldridge Road; thence in a northerly direction and parallel to Wooldridge Road at a distance of 2 chains to Harewood Road; thence in an easterly direction along Harewood Road to a point 2 chains west of Crofton Street; thence in a northerly direction and parallel with Crofton Street at a distance of 2 chains to a point 2 chains on the north side of Sawyers Arms Road; thence in an easterly direction at a distance of 2 chains along Sawyers Arms Road to a point 2 chains west of Highsted Road; thence in a northerly direction and parallel to Highsted Road to Claridges Road; thence in an easterly direction along Claridges Road to Grampian Road; thence along Grampian Road in a north-easterly direction to Cavendish Road; thence in a northerly direction along Cavendish Road to Styx Mill Road; thence east along Styx Mill Road to its junction with the Main North Road. Continuing from this point in an easterly direction to Farquhars Road, along Farquhars Road to a point 2 chains on the east side of Grimseys Road; thence in a southerly direction and parallel with Grimseys Road to a point 2 chains south of Winters Road; thence in a westerly direction and parallel to Winters Road to the Christchurch City boundary; thence generally in a westerly direction along the Christchurch City boundary to the Fendalton Riding boundary on Ilam Road; and that the special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 35 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Waimairi County Council held on the 23rd day of April 1959.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL

An Act to provide for the amendment of the rules of societies which are members of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Incorporated).

NOTICE is hereby given that the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Incorporated) (commonly known as the Plunket Society) intends to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session for leave to apply to bring in a private Bill, the short title of which is stated above, in order to effect the following objects:

To provide for the amendment of the rules of societies, which are members of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Incorporated), by resolution passed by a three-fifths majority at a general, interim, or special conference of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Incorporated) and various matters incidental thereto.

The promoter of the Bill is the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (Incorporated) whose address for the service of communications or notices is at the offices of Messrs Cook, Allan, and Cook, Solicitors, 25 Crawford Street, Dunedin.

Copies of the Bill may be inspected at the office of the promoter at 453 George Street, Dunedin, or at the offices of its solicitors, Messrs Cook, Allan, and Cook, 25 Crawford Street, Dunedin C. 1.
