northerly to and along the eastern side of the said road and its production to the middle line of the Opawa River in Section 5, Block IX, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence easterly generally along the middle line of the Opawa River to its intersection with the middle line of the old bed of the Opawa River opposite Lot 2, D.P. 2387, in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence north-easterly along the middle line of the said old bed to a point in line with the south-east side of a road forming the south-east boundary of Section 34, Wairau Registration District; thence north-easterly to and along the south-east side of the said road to the south-west side of Vickerman Street; thence south-easterly along the south-west side of Vickerman Street to a point in line with the south-east side of Jones Road; thence north-easterly to and along the south-east side of Jones Road and its production to the left bank of the Wairau River; thence south-easterly generally along the said left bank to the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the Borough of Blenheim, hereinbefore described.
BOUNDARIES OF WAIRAU RIDING
All that area in the Marlborough County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of Marlborough County hereinbefore described in Block XIV, Pine Valley Survey District; thence easterly generally along the summit of the dividing range between the Pelorus and Wairau Valleys to the summit of the watershed of the Onamalutu and Kaituna Valleys; thence south-easterly along the summit of the ridge between the Onamalutu and Kaituna Valleys to Trig. Station R; thence continuing south-easterly generally along a right line to the north-east corner of a public road forming the south-west boundary of Section 107, Kaituna Valley Registration District, in Block XII, Onamalutu Survey District; thence continuing south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of the said road and its production across a public road and along the south-west boundary of part Section 106, Kaituna Registration District, and the production of that boundary to the middle of the Onamalutu River; thence easterly generally down the middle of the said river to its confluence with the Wairau River; thence south-easterly along a right line to the boundary of the Omaka Riding, as hereinbefore described, at the north-east corner of Section 35, Block I, Waihopai Registration District, in Block XVI, Onamalutu Survey District; thence southerly and easterly generally along the boundary of the said Omaka Riding to its intersection with the boundary of the Borough of Blenheim, as hereinbefore described, at the north-east corner of part Section 8, Omaka Registration District, in Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence southerly along the said borough boundary and southerly and south-easterly generally along the boundary of the aforesaid Omaka Riding to its intersection with the Marlborough County boundary on the south-west side of Taylor Pass Road in Block XIII, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence generally south-westerly, north-westerly, and north-easterly along the boundary of the Marlborough County as hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.

Revoking Designation of State Highway, Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Designating Main Highway to be State Highway
PURSUANT to section 11 and 12 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

The main highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be State highway.

(1) The public highways described in the First and Second Schedules hereto shall cease to be main highways.
(2) The Orders in Council made on 16 October 1928* and 2 October 1940† declaring (inter alia) the portions of main highway in the First and Second Schedules hereto to be main highways are hereby consequently amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said portions of highway.

The public highways described in the Third and Fourth Schedules hereto are hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

The main highway described in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby designated State highway and shall form part of the Hawera-Wanganui State Highway.

The main highway described in the Fourth Schedule hereto is hereby designated State highway and shall form part of the New Plymouth - Hawera State Highway.

This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.
FIRST SCHEDULE
No. 7 DISTRICT ROADS COUNCIL
NEW PLYMOUTH - HAWERA: The whole of those streets within the Borough of Hawera, known as Glover Road and Collins Street, from the junction with the public highway formerly known as Waihi Main Highway No. 545 to the junction of the No. 11 Hawera-Wanganui State Highway at the Hawera terminal of that State highway, being a distance of 148 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
HAWERA-WANGANUI: All that public highway commencing at the junction with the former New Plymouth - Hawera State Highway known as Collins Street and proceeding to a line opposite the eastern boundary of Section 31, Town of Hawera, being a distance of approximately 31 chains, and more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640, and thereon coloured brown.
NEW PLYMOUTH - HAWERA via OPUNAKE: All that public highway commencing at its junction with the Waihi Main Highway and terminating at its junction with the former New Plymouth - Hawera No. 10 State Highway, being a distance of approximately 73 chains, and being more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640, and thereon coloured green.
SECOND SCHEDULE
No. 7 DISTRICT ROADS COUNCIL
HAWERA-MOKOIA: Approximately 32 chains from the junction with Collins Street, formerly New Plymouth - Hawera State Highway, to a line opposite the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 7853, being more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640, and thereon coloured yellow.
ELTHAM-HAWERA: Approximately 19 chains from that part of Glover Road, formerly known as No. 10 New Plymouth - Hawera State Highway, to the south side of Fantham Street as shown on plan P.W.D. 158640, and thereon coloured orange.
THIRD SCHEDULE
No 7 DISTRICT ROADS COUNCIL
HAWERA-WANGANUI: All those streets in the Borough of Hawera commencing at the borough boundary at a point where that boundary crosses South Road at its junction with Waihi Road and Manawapou Road and proceeding thence by way of South Road in a south-easterly direction to the eastern boundary of the borough at a line opposite the eastern boundary of Section 31, Town of Hawera, a distance of 101 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
FOURTH SCHEDULE
No. 7 DISTRICT ROADS COUNCIL
NEW PLYMOUTH - HAWERA: All those streets in the Borough of Hawera commencing at the borough boundary at the point where that boundary crosses Waihi Road at its intersection with Glover Road and proceeding thence by way of Waihi Road in a southerly direction to its junction with South Road, a distance of 96 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 158640 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
