(c) Clause 16 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Borough Council shall himself be a member of such body” were omitted and the words “jointly by the Mosgiel Borough Council and the Taieri County Council shall himself be a member of that Board or of one of those local bodies,” were substituted therefor:

(d) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1961:

(e) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if the clause numbered 13A set out in the Schedule hereto were inserted after clause 13:

(f) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43 were revoked, and the clause numbered 43 set out in the Schedule hereto were substituted therefor:

SCHEDULE

NEW CLAUSES FOR THE STANDARD SCHEME

13A (1) In every case where any member is to be elected by the members of the school committees of the public schools in accordance with paragraph (g) of clause 2 of the Taieri High School Board of Governors Order 1959, every such member shall be so elected by postal ballot in a manner approved by the Otago Education Board in the case of the first election and by the Board of the school in the case of any subsequent election.

(2) The first such election shall be held on a date to be fixed by the Otago Education Board, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1961 and in every alternate year thereafter, or as soon thereafter as may be convenient on a date to be fixed by the Board. For the purposes of every such election the Secretary of the Board shall be the returning officer.

  1. From time to time as may be necessary the Board shall appoint a Secretary, and shall appoint him or some other person with authority to receive money on the Board’s account. The Board shall forthwith inform the Minister of every such appointment. Where the Principal is appointed Secretary of the Board he shall not receive any additional remuneration in respect of that appointment.

Scheme of Control of Ruapehu College

PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Ruapehu College being controlled, on and after the 1st day of June 1959, in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:

Provided that:

(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest Borough within 5 miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Ohakune Borough Council” were substituted therefor:

(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “such election shall be held in the first week in the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held not later than in the first week in the month of July in the year 1959 and such an election shall be held in the first week in the month of May in the year 1961” were substituted therefor:

(c) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1961:

(d) The Standard Scheme shall be read as if clause 43 thereof were revoked and the clause set out in the Schedule hereto were substituted therefor.

SCHEDULE

CLAUSE TO BE READ AS PART OF STANDARD SCHEME

Taita College—Amendment of List for Election of Governors by School Committees

PURSUANT to clause 3 of the Order in Council* providing for the constitution of the Board of Governors for Taita College, the Minister of Education hereby declares that the list of schools referred to in paragraph (e) of clause 2 of the aforesaid order shall be read as if the words “Avalon Public School, the Pomare Public School, the Stokes Valley Public School, and the Taita Central Public School” were omitted, and the words “Taita Intermediate School, the Pomare Public School, the Stokes Valley Public School, the Taita Central Public School, and the Tui Glen Public School” were substituted therefor.

Naenae College—Amendment of List for Election of Governor by School Committees

PURSUANT to clause 3 of the Order in Council* providing for the constitution of the Board of Governors for Naenae College, the Minister of Education hereby declares that the list of schools referred to in paragraph (e) of clause 2 of the aforesaid order shall be read as if the words “Committees of the Rata Street Public School, the Waddington Drive Public School, the Naenae Public School, and the Dyer Street Public School” were omitted, and the words “Committee of the Naenae Intermediate School” were substituted therefor.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

———

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
