NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
——
In the matter of the Counties Act 1920 and in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Franklin County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the provision of a road within the County of Franklin, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situated in Roulston Street, Pukekohe, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by and who have well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within 40 days from the 10th day of April 1959, being the day of the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the County Office, Roulston Street, Pukekohe.

SOUTHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
——
Rural Housing Loan No. 3 1958 of £20,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Southland County Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of twenty thousand pounds (£20,000) authorised to be raised by the Southland County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers in terms of the Rural Housing Act 1939, the said Southland County Council hereby makes a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny (1/50d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the district comprising the whole of the County of Southland; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed by the Southland County Council at a meeting of the said Council held on the 3rd day of April 1959.

HASTINGS CITY COUNCIL

VARIATION OF TOWN PLANNING SCHEME
——
PUBLIC notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 22 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, that the Hastings City Council has resolved to make a variation in the proposed district scheme for the City of Hastings. Such variation is to rezone an area at the corner of Outram Road and Norton Road in the City of Hastings, being part of Lot 60, D.P. 362, from Residential A as at present shown on the plan, to Commercial A.
A plan of the said variation has been deposited at the office of the Council, Hastings Street, Hastings, in the Public Library, Heretaunga Street, Hastings, and in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, and is there open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein, at any time when the above places are open to the public.
Objections to the variation shall be in writing in the form No. 4 in the First Schedule of the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 21 July 1959. At a later date every objection will be open for public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objections will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of the objections if he notifies the Town Clerk in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
——
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Pahiatua County Council made on the 8th day of April 1959, a district scheme has been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953; the scheme relates to the whole of the County of Pahiatua. The scheme has been deposited in the County Council Chambers, 136 Main Street, Pahiatua, and is there open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the above place is open to the public.
Objections to the scheme or any part thereof shall be in writing in the form No. 4 prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than 5 p.m. on the 1st day of August 1959. At a later date every objection will be open to public inspection, and any person who wishes to support or oppose any objections will be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he notifies the County Clerk in writing within a period of which public notice will be given.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution of the Christchurch City Council made on the 27th day of January 1958 and amended by further resolutions on 10 March and 28 April 1958, a district scheme has been recommended for approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953. The scheme relates to the City of Christchurch, Section 1 (zoning). The scheme has been deposited in the offices of the Christchurch City Council, 194 Manchester Street, Christchurch, corner Hawke Street and Shaw Avenue, New Brighton, 18 Wakefield Avenue, Sumner; also in the Canterbury Public Library and each of the suburban libraries, namely, Addington, Beckenham, Burwood, Linwood, Mount Pleasant, New Brighton, Opawa, Papanui, Redcliffs, St. Albans, St. Martins, Spreydon, Sumner, Sydenham, Waltham, and Woolston, and is there open for inspection without fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the above places are open to the public.
Objections to the scheme or to any part thereof shall be in writing in the form No. 4 prescribed in the First Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations 1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any time not later than the 23rd day of July 1959.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE FOR A WATER RACE

NOTICE is hereby given that, by Application No. 18 of 1959, Gulielma Constance MacPherson, of Wanaka, married woman, will apply to the Warden’s Court at Cromwell on the 20th day of May 1959 for a licence for a branch race to carry the water of Licences 16, 77, and 78 through freehold lands of applicant and private lands of W. A. Studholme, in Block III, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and through private lands of H. W. S. Faulks, and across Queenstown-Wanaka Main Highway and a Public Reserve and to terminate in other freehold lands of applicant.
Objections must be filed in the Registrar’s Office, Cromwell, and notified to applicant at least three days before the date of hearing.
